What the frog is indian origin ? Term Indian is only on paper. In reality there are punjabi,marathi,gujarati,tamil,bengali,telegu etc.... Have u ever met an indian who introduced himself as indian to another indian. While it's fine to identify with one's root , we also need to consider at larger picture. Anyways it will take it's own sweet time as mind is being configured at young age, belief system,prejudice's etc.. are formed against oung impressionist mind
No IITian got a nOble prize yet, barring one in 2010! Rediff please ,stop being a trumpet for IITs, whose competition is already overcrowded and anyway these people are not doing good in science and only in management.
Soumitra Dutta is not an Indian;but has only Indian roots.Though there is nothing to rejo ice about it,we are still proud of him at his great achievement in heading an Ivy League Institute.That is the reputed Institute where the selection process is not plagued by the rotten system of caste based quota.Our Hearty Congrats to him.

the "rotten system of caste based quota" has its roots in the most humilating form of discrimination practised anywhere in the world, viz; the caste system-the biggest social crime in the world invented and practised in India only!!Your caste suffixed name says it all!!
what about those who did Phd from Cornell and lived in India, did research for this nation and no more.....
He did IIt with his calibar and gone to US with his merit and became Dean with his hard work but what India contributed to him or Indian people or Congress or BJP or xyz....

India has the unique distinction of inventing the most humiliating form of discrimination in the world'viz; caste system-the biggest socila crime in the world!! and reservation is a small token of atonement to compensate for this crime.

Do you believe women reservation is required. If answer is no then I have nothing else to comment. Reservations are made with a good intention to bring up many to main stream. No doubt it has to be stopped or slowly bring down. Similarly those upper cast people who are not well to do also should be considered. So let us note conclude that those 4 Bs - Beauty, Bucks, Brawn and Brain on has to survive. Others too should get a chance
