I don't understand why we indians find negative points in every thing. Who stopped Haldiram or any other indian chain in becoming global. No doubt fast food harms but excess of everything is bad why blame only fast food. Nobody is compelling anyone to go to these joints. They go there because they liked it. Try to appreciate success stories like McDonalds so that we Indians can also get motivated to do something big globally instead of just finding faults in things which we could not do so far.

I completely agree with you Amitabh. Any article about America, people start criticizing about west and their culture.

I remember SRK's Swadesh movie. With us Indians- ignorance is a bliss. We can't rise higher, so we start trying to pull others down. Same with all religious fanatics too.

Problem is with our vision. Mcdonalds got bigger and bigger coz they dreamt big. We indian don't want or rather don't have courage to come out of our own shell. Haldiram could not reach mcdonalds level because they never thought that big. We indian's still think that Garlic and onions are bad because we infused religion in our food. A myth created by us. No one wants to come out of its shell and recognize its exellent medicinal values.

FDI or not is just political Nautanki. Here it is a matter to appreciate success stories like McDonalds
The deleterious effects of an urban Indian generation growing up on McDonald's will be seen in 30 years. Obesity, diabetes, heart attacks, strokes - watch the movie "Super Size Me" for an idea.

Obviously not but Indian fast food is not seen as aspirational, hence is less likely to become an unhealthy habit in children or teenagers.
