Right, whatever the government appointed ombudsman says or whatever the latest instantiation of corruption-fighting, transparency-invoking angry-old-man says or whatever our preacher says or whatever our birthers say, is all true. And no, it is not just true, it is cent per cent true - there is absolutely no room for any instrospection or analysis. Oh wait, I almost forgot, all my problems are always because of someone else (usually a politician) and the solution also lies in somebody else (usually a "down-to-earth and humble", dogma fearing male but yet wickedly smart to take down the politically astute) doing something about it. Truly amazing are the descendants of one of the oldest surviving civilizations. I guess if we sow wheat we will reap wheat and not rice.

Bull-$hit!
Singapore is THE DEFINITIVE model state for the world to follow!
Singapore is the future of the world. Anyone who can manage Chinese and Indian ethnic ppl. can rule the world. The 2 most obtuse and orthogonal yet populous and prosperous pp. in the world.
Sing. has put in the processes, the law, the education and discipline to thrive with these 2 plus Muslim Malay community.
Try that anywhere else and specially in Asia, they'll be at each other's throats like in Iraq!
Extreme, 1-off measures are justified for extreme crimes. Singapore zindabad.

In 2007, the fascist Government of Singapore, in the face of pleas from the Civilized-World, executed by hanging a 19-year-old Nigerian boy, who had unfortunately been duped into carrying some drugs with him, as he flew into Singapore, to chase his dreams of making it to one of Singapore's professional Soccer-clubs.
Read up about the hear-rending story of the young boy, Amara Tochi.
His execution by the fascist Government of Singapore was a murder-most-foul.
All good people with a conscience can contribute to this Boycott :
1) Do NOT ever visit Singapore.
2) Never ever fly on Singapore Airlines.
3) Do NOT ever buy goods or services from Singapore.

Were you or someone in your family the drug supplier? Every drug courier caught in the world is "innocent" because there are no proper jobs offered as "Drug Couriers". So dream job was to play soccer in "singapore" of all the country. Wow!. If you believe in Nigerians, you can believe that a building called Taj Mahal in India is for sale?

Law is law. No innocent gets punished by the court. Singapoer is the most advanced, democratic when it comes to crime in the most advanced civilised country. I think you are too emotional about Nigeira and the man who ccommited the crime. Think again..

I am not aware of the facts in this case. But what your remarks about innocent not being punished and most advanced etc. lead me to believe that you are either most naive or a political lackey in the city state's propaganda machine.

Mrunal, It is Singapore's death penalty against drug use that is one of the major reasons for Singapore being a safe country for normal people. In the free countries like India, drug money is funding the underworld and protecting criminals. Without drug trade mafias are not financially viable. They give a fair trial and it is likely that the boy was actually guilty. I live in Singapore and the feeling of safety here is unimaginable in India. Life of law abiding people are more important than life of drug traffickers.
Of course, if you travel to Singapore or any other country, you should never carry someone else's stuff. Often other Indians (strangers) have asked me in airport to carry some of their luggage as they have excess baggage. I politely refuse always. better be considered bad guy than risk my life or reputation. I have seen some people helping such people out of goodness of their heart and naivete. But it is very risky. You are responsible for everything in your luggage. No one will listen to your stories if caught with drugs or weapons.

I guess the citizenry of our country love to pass judgement on all and sundry, like one were passing gas after a burrito most foul. "Freedom" loving and "law" abiding citizenry such as yourself are the reason why the world is run by monkeys. So successfully have they bandied about their religious morality that the entire collection of people have completely lost sight of how much of their individuality has already been usurped by the pseudo self-righteousness that has erupted from their evil endeavors - I wonder just how much longer till we truly are living on the planet of the apes.

Hi chor bazzaari, Singapore is bit different. So don't preach what you dream after a drug butt.

Well, you carry drugs in India... no problem... you can get away by buying someone in excise or customs. Or if you are some politicians son's distantant relatives' friend, you can walk out on bail in few hours. That is India. Why do we need law... Singapore is tough... they dont allow even chicklets... because it makes Singapore messy... but you cannot have your freedom of doing everywhere like India... great... India zindabad.

Do we have to believe all what the CAG reports on various matters say? On hind sight, we can say that we could have done this better or cheaper or bigger etc. CAG reports are like locking the doors after the thief has gone with all goodies. If we want big, beautiful and global standard in our mega projects, we have to be either well prepared to stop all fraudulent deals or should keep our mouth shut instead of making us laughing stock in front of the world.

As long as Business-Politics nexus continues everything will be talked about but nothing will happen. Only GOD has to take another avatar and annihilate these parasites and viruses from the face of the earth. Let's all pray.

I agree with both of you except the last part about who will actually resolve this problem. You see, it is the sheer gullibility of you masses that the monkeys have you so wrapped in myths that even though your real life is in the balance you are still looking at a solution from a mythical domain. Even a new born child (who has not quite been brainwashed yet) does not believe its creator when she says stop crying, its okay.
How does the airport compare in costs with the Indian airport both in terms of Capital expenditure and charges levied on Airport users!! Should throw intersting light and help CAG nail some fat culprits !!
