Raising diesel prices, or any other, is acceptable, ONLY if the Govt. recovers the huge amount of 2G, CWG, Adarsh etc. Otherwise, why should we subsidize corruption? Will the FM attache the properties of all those involved? Why two different yardsticks - one for ordinary citizen and the other forpoliticians?

Why don't government charge a yearly tax from Diesel vehicle ownerns. This can bring in some 20k crores per annum and can reduce the fuel subsidy.
PC can ask to give proper account of every lakhINR spending in defence, under Jairam Ramesh for rural development and other depts etc and sure 25% of budgeted amount he will get as unused. Defence spending will have a max 60% efficiency. LPG,Diesel etc are peanut to that.
Yes, he has a tough road ahead considering the economic mess left by the Pevious Finance Minister (NOW PROMOTED TO PRESIDENCY FOR CREATING THE HOLY MESS). However, PC will definitely do a much better job. From here on the economy can only look up. Nobody can repeat the performance of Pranab Mukherjee.
