Truth!!
by varghese on Aug 24, 2012 04:43 PM

The sad truth is its just an copied cut paste article done with no common sense..no research work done..hence there is no data about Indian Railways..any fool around could say Indian Railways/Chinese railways run the most nos. of passengers/goods.hence obviously the largest , busiest and highest railway stations

Liverpool???
by William Wallace on Aug 12, 2012 12:29 AM  | Hide replies

Liverpool Station is neither the largest, nor one of the busiest or the highest railway station!!! Rediff, seriously do you homework instead of randomly putting up an article without thinking twice on the content's credibility.

Inferiority complex
by Varadarajan Ravindran on Aug 10, 2012 03:04 AM  | Hide replies

Indians have an inferiority complex in not showing their own stations in Bombay, Calcutta or Delhi. They always want to show American, European or other Asian stations instead of their own. It is a good idea to show all of them so that one might be able to make comparisons. Indians must not feel ashamed of themselves if they have to become world leaders some day.

I agree , Indian railways is the cheapest and best value for money. People complain about rajdhani food etc but similar train in US/Europe will cost at least 3 times more even in discounted tickets

How do they adjudge the busiest station?
by John Kulandai on Aug 07, 2012 09:41 PM  | Hide replies

I have visited mmany stations given in this presentation. I have not seen any station busier than the Howrah station, not even the Grand-Central of the New York. Probably someone got the pictures of some of the most beautiful stations selling out most costly tickets to the passengers... I for one appreciate the Railways of India, selling the cheapest tickets in the world, while running the Indian Railways which are better than in many developing countries. What about workmanship? Are we Indians good at our work in India, especially when we work for the government? You know the answer! How can we get the cleanest and the most efficient department when we neglect our responsibity at work, especially if it is in a government department? We have a the lousy feeling that what belongs to the government belongs to no one. We need to do a soul search, instead of condemning always the government. We are India; we are the government! India is what we are! Those who have studied in India, but are working abroad and are seeking to settle abroad have right ti critisize our country.

It would be better to legalize entry into reserved compartments for general ticket holders with leying penalty and alloting accommidation during journey on availability of vacancy and priority basis,to the possible extent.TTE should write complete details of passenger on chalan for identity purpose.Altenatively a seperate coach can be arranged for such passengers who prepare to pay penalty and wait for accommidation. This will add extra revenue besides serving passengers travelling on emergency needs.I n this unconfirmed waitlisted passengers too can be added

you adjudge it by the number of people using that terminal. a station can have more terminals and thus appear less crowded but that does not mean it is less busier.

simply blaming railway authorities is not the solution..passengers themselves are dirty, corrupt, patheric and what more..they steal every thing when no one is looking, first we should improve and then blame admin..
