Modi has proved yet again he is a leader when it comes to industry and development. Hope other states do their share of generating power through non conventional means.

Therefore the best you probably could do is to refuse to use this power.

To spread hatred for Modi, is harmful for Muslims themselves. They must honour democracy.

by mahesh muliyala on Apr 24, 2012 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

12croes per 1MW is too costly considering convetional power generation.and also if we back calculate(considering units produced) then plant procucing full power only for 4.5 hours, why? If you calculate unit produced per capita cost it become too costly.
Effort, Idea is good but still we need technical brack trough in solar cell to it become effordable.

Wish you would put some value to the environment also, besides, there would be savings on evaporation of water.

Ways & Means to make it viable - do like Maharashtra Govt did for the famous express highway - it was costly, so they applied toll on old highway, and wow, the expressway is cost effective!

It is amazing to find that this person, Narendra Modi, has been silently working while a lot of people around him (obviously with the covert support of the Congress) have just spent all their time to target him on one issue for the last 10 years. He has gone ahead undaunted. May be it is time for the Congress to stop for a while and see how this man is working and try to emulate him atleast on the issue of development. A question that begs to be asked is, if Modi can do this, why not other "leaders"? We are told to be proud that the nation is lead by an Economist PM, why did this "economist" PM not get such a brilliant idea. The whole issue of Nuclear deal could have been avoided if such a Solar project was taken up on a large scale and water too would have been saved. It would have been a win-win for the State as well as for Environment.

subbu is right. On the other end of the country that f00l mamata banerjee and her lackeys are proving to be even more inept than the commies.

In the end the attitude of the people matters. Salutations to the people of Gujrat.

Almost all the "leaders" get ideas of how to circumvent/subvert the system. How to score a political point over their adversaries, etc. None get the feeling that development could also bring them votes and the State too would benefit. The bane of India has benn and will always be its Political system and the kind of leaders that it generates.
