What's so surprising ?

Mumbai and it's suburbs are No 1 in population , Delhi is no 2 and Kolkata is No3 . The list is strictly in order of total population base.
Isn't it intuitive ?
Perhaps they should focus on internet density or internet connections per 1000 people in different regions

Inspite of that, Mumbai will still top the list buddy. Are you from B'lore?

Abhishek. Mumbai's population is highest in India (21 million). So obviously there will be more number of users. The study is funny. They count you even if you used internet only once to check results online.

Does not matter from where I am but this is complete useless data.
BTW If that helps I am not from Bangalore and also if you divide the numbers here with population you will get density , Do a little math and Bombay is not no 1.
There is a good reason government talks in term of tele-density and not number of telephones and same applies to internet

If you divide numbers presented here with population you will get density and no mumbai is not no1.
If it helps in anyway I have nothing to do with promotion of Bangalore

the study also sounds quite amaturish for the reason that quality aspects such as speed, average interruptions, bandwidth available per person, usage in hours do make the internet usage a pleasure rather than a pain

Honestly I should say that browsing is still a pain in India including the major metros, comparable to slow-moving traffic
