all it takes is to be cunning, ability to know how to find the corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in India and grease their palms with black money and get your work done
Surajit Das Gupta - Splitting the role was a fact that came directly from the Tata camp. You have gone several steps ahead in this article judging and pointing fingers on who should or should not step into Mr Tata's shoes. You sound like a low level, LOW IQ, typical Bollywood GOSSIP reporter using such shallow and cheap tactics to try to influence the Tata maestros. Businesses run in the real world and decisions are not taken randomly or under such irrelevant external influences generated by some random media scribes. While you are free to continue writing this kind of stuff as you have been doing in the past, remember you are ONLY LOWERING your own credibility and alerting the decision-makers more to raise eyebrows on your being in cohorts with some vested interest who are floating names when you neither have the competence, background or authority for the same.

any other family managed company or political party would do to enhance the power & prestige of the dynasty & yet get the people to sing your paens. That Sir, truly is the class of hypocrisy that can come only from a hundred years of uninterrupted rule.
1) When there are tens of top of the line CEOs, within the group, the ONLY candidate found suitable to step into the shoes of a true GIANT, is a family member, with little specific corporate achievement or any other, except perhaps youth (If fortyish is young!).
2) When said family member becomes the new boss, one of the earliest Firmans is that CEOs / Chairmen must retire by 65 years of age. Out go the irritating old lot, that actually ran businesses when the 'Young' man was growing up.
3) With the now not so new owner at the helm, the retirement age is now extended twice (I think) in tranches of 5 years each, so that the retirement age is now 75 years!
4) After months of Global Search it is found that there is none suitable to replace the by now legendary scion.
5) Finally it is found that the employees largely support the scion's younger brother! Wow!
Man, Rahul Gandhi needs to take up the Tatas as a case study.
