Delhi is so lucky city in this regards. Metro is such a comfort here. Any other city is atleast 15 years behind.

Delhi is the only modern metro (apart from Kolkatta) which is totally Govt funded.

All other upcoming metros in the country are Public Private partnership projects - meaning private firms will make sure that they get market-related payment to get full payback on their project cost which will be reflected in the ticket costs in the years to come like u see in electricity bills.

Why this injustice towards non-Delhi citizens of the country - Delhi gets subsidized public transportation, other Indian cities do not. Also Delhi is a tax-sink, sucking tax money from all over the country, whereas cities like Mumbai and Bengaluru are tax payers.

Horrible state the country is in today - with the city having the biggest politicians, bureaucrats and middlemen manipulating power to get national wealth to improve their city - another example commonwealth games.

Delhi has the highest evasion of Sales tax as they export to all over the country w/o Tax. Delhi govt is least bothered as they get Central funds for their need un-like other states

Hello Brothers
Its shocking to see sign boards only in KANNADA language which is welcome but how do you call it a metro service.more than 50% of Bengaluru population is non kannadigas BUT citizens of karnataka unable to read and write the language. But when Bengaluru is boasting as the SILICON VALLEY of India why dont you be more friendly and practical to be so?Pls dont fall for cheap gimmicks of local ploiticians like dve gowda who are cheapest to the core and spoiled to the core not caring for the welfare of the common innocent citizen who wants only development, decent society friendly and responsible citizens. And we cannot eat or drink our language????? you know 75% of the labor involved in biulding metro were north indians but not kannadigas?

More than half the guys who travel in Namma Metro are outsiders. Learning to speak is fine but reading is not that easy. And if your in a transferable job, the learnt language is wasted.

Why dont you take it as an opportunity to learn the local language? I can understand tourists complaining, but not local immigrants... By the way, my mother tongue is not kannada either... But I cared to learn the language...

Well Neo, in that case Delhi Metro should have signboards in hindi only, Jaipur metro (bidding stage) in rajasthani, chennai metro (work has started) in tamil and hyderabad metro (post bidding stage) in telegu and kolkata metro in bangla......it will be definitely an opportunity for the non-localites to learn a new language but only for the sake of riding a metro? think of a person who has a transferaable job eg. an army personel....but I really doubt if the station names/sign boards in BMRC are not written in English also.....Damu can you please clarify

Good reply Neo... and mr. Murthy, you have a great customer care present for Namma Metro, which you can always use. In addition, they also have a a great support team viz, security, ticketing personnel and all others, with whom you can clarify your doubts. But, i am also little clueless.. i couldn't find any signboard, just in kannada.. Every instructions are also in english too..

Definetly local language board should be displayed, but along side board should be displayed in our National language too.

Hindi is not India's national language.

India has no concept of national language, it has 23 official languages. Check the Constitution.

That is true.. All these TVs and newspaper talk about National language, national movies, in fact there is nothing called National Langugage. Recently authorities also had to give an undertaking in a court in Gujarath, saying that there is no national language in India.

Even my mother tongue is not Kannada, but I do care to learn the local language. Many people in India have this superior attitude when they migrate, why cant we take an opportunity to learn a new language when move to a new place? India is a beautiful country with plenty of cultures and languages, we should keep them intact.

don;t mind to these guys replies. its not supposed to be a "hindu" ceremony. its totally wrong to have a religious ceremony for a public function in a secular society. just ignore that tamasha ceremony and consider it belongs to you too....

What religious? This is the tradition of this country. This is the way people have been doing since generations inculding your forefathers. It is about centiment and not religion. 1nduism is not a religion. Its a way of living. So there is nothing unsecular to it.
