not so optimistic

i have always maintained that without liquor business (which was set up by vittal mallya where the margins are around 100% plus the income from second sales without paying any excise or vat) vijay mallya would have gone bankrupt in months. He cannot compete in markets where the margins are thin. There are plenty examples for us to verify for example his expansions in africa in textiles, pharma to name a few. He has just surrounded himself with cronies who just milk the company. They dont care about the shareholders or their dividend.

Is anyone really managing KF
by Chandrasekar on Oct 17, 2011 07:41 PM

I doubt if any one really concerned about KF management. I once pointed out a flaw in their reservation system and told that it was their reservation policy. It was about one year back and now the company on the verge of extinction.

Mallyas should have thought the pretty girls of KF will take care of business!!!

What did Business standard get by publishing this article.

It mus be gameplan of Vijay mallya to portray the profile of his son. But the fact is Siddarth mallya is spoilt Brat of a businessman. and he is good for nothing. As such KF is going to be liquidated very soon. The company could not deposit TDS nor they could pay employees PF amount.
It is said first generation creates an empire second one mainatains it and third one will liquidate it. Likewise Siddarth Mallya is third generation and he is supposed to end the empire which he is faithfully doing. Go ahead Mr. mallya

Vittal Mallya built up the liquor empire United Breweries by acquiring many liquor companies. He concentrated on building his industry and was so conservative that he never gave more than 7.5% dividend to the shareholders.

His son Vijay Mallya known as a Playboy inherited the empire on a platter and went into many unrelated businesses which have all failed. He is more interested in glamour, calender with semi clad girls, fashion and cricket rather than looking after his businesses and increasing the return to the shareholders.

His son Siddarth is more interested in Deepika Padakone and cricket than in looking after his industry.Shareholders would do well to exit when the management does not pay much attention to its core business.
