I thing Inndia have alot of talent to develope big metro cities. But India have big problem is indian citizen.Citizen dosn't want devlope just want only corruption. That's a true bscause India's people always blaim to government.Untill and unless India's people show i m honest we see the india developememt very well compare for big metro politen cities and day by day Increase population in India it's a very big problem to not develope in big cities.
The problem in south India is that local people do not know hindi or english, making it a problem for outsiders to stay there for a long period of time. On the positive side, most of the IT people are from south India and IT is driving India forward. There can be many Bangalores but no Mumbai in south India

People in south india speak much better english than nort Indians. North Indians only know Hindi. If you check any global survey, foreigners prefer staying in south india in cities like Bangalore because it is more cosmopolitan and people speak much better english

Hi Deepika n Utpal...I somehow disagree with both of you. Instead of choosing between North n South for better linguistic abilities, we must take pride in that we always have n welcome people from across the globe , irrespectable of cast, creed n color. We live by the sayin " Athiti Devo Bhava " Acceptance for our own countrymen , then comes the rest. Loads of Gyaan P'haps.

yaa dehradun is a good choice.. but this city has an infrastructure problem.. you cant make sky-scrappers here because it is vulnerable to earth quack..
Most of the cities are from South India. and Maharashtra gujrat. Very few from north india.
While rest of the india is progressing, Hindi sate and its people are improving population and burden on other states. Migration of hindi people towards south has to be stopped else southern state will be as bad as NOrth india.

bhopal is one of the fastest growing city of India with growth rate of over 10% since last one decade. with over 100 engineering colleges, AIIMS(coming up), needless to mention the potential it has in IT, manufacturing & fabrication, tourism sector. definitely it will be one of the economic drivers of the country... i am wondering how this report is being finalized by rediff team..
My dear Friends I have seen at least 50% parts of India, though originally I am from Maharashtra.
I think they have totally neglected following Cities - From Gujarat - Surat and Rajkot From Maharashtra - Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Kolhapur (Pune is 7th largest Metro city- It Cannot be included in this List) From Orissa - Bhubaneshwar From Chhattisgarh - Raipur Also Indore-Jaipur-Chandigadh should have been there in this list.
Why not Tirupati , its getting International Airport and well connected with road and rail. Historical City with Lot of Visitors. Business and Education
i guess we need pune, panipat, jalandhar, bhuvneshwar, chandigarh, ahemdabad, jaipur, jammu, puri, bikaner also to be added if any of them is not a tier 1 city.. actually they should have given name of tier 1 cities in india in first slide. that would have made more sense.
