Why

Why does Indian media have to interject "Indian" into every International news?

How does what some obscure Indians think matter in this case?

All over the world, Indians are primarily famous or infamous for being IT coolies!

What this article is saying is like saying that railway coolies are remembering a trail-blazing engineer who created innovative engines!

Indians, please understand this simple fact ..... nobody gives a sh1t about you and indulging in self-aggrandizement will not change this fact!

Why is nobody talking about Kapil Sibals greatness in creating the Rs.2,500/- android Tablet. I am sure when Sibal succumbs to the "Wrath of Corruption" diseases... the world will remember him as a Android Icon!

Yes. You are right!

I don't think Kapil Sibal ever lived in silicon valley but he was able to introduce a tablet PC priced at $60!

Just shows that to be innovative in India all you need to do is eat Nehru dynasty's sh1t!

He is revered because of his egomania.
by sq kazmi on Oct 06, 2011 06:11 PM  | Hide replies

Untimely death of a man is regretted but people the world over revere the persons bold and conceited enough to act as if they were gods. Steve jobs was no other. He was an eccentric visionary with a big big ego. Visionaries are many but such prominence is attained only by portraying a larger than life persona. When the likes of Mayawati can rule millions of people just by portraying herself as a goddess to them, everything is possible.
He was the creative genius behind the success of Apple, but the real technical genius who actually created the Apple computers all by himself was another Steve, about whom not many people know. Steve Wozniak was the technical mind who created the things and Jobs marketed them. Since Jobs was the face of Apple people credit him to have godlike powers. This god was in the market to make money (he banned all philanthropic work by Apple) mostly out of the people who have more money than sense and prefer style and aesthetics over performance. Using apple computer has been the worst experience for me. Apple sucks money like leeches. An upgrade from 320 gb hard disk to 500 gb can cost you nearly five times the cost of the disk. The compatibility issues are so many that after toying with the idea to go for apple again because of nice looking machines, i decided against it. And the height of idiotic egoism is the lack of forward delete key (because windows has it so apple won't have ), which constrains you go forward and then backspace.

I am still trying to pin point his exact greatness.

Longtime ago I read his famous 3-story speech at Stanford convocation (which ironically, cleverly adapted by Narayana Murthy when he gave one of his speeches-anointing himself to be an Indian version of Steve Jobs)and one point caught my attention.

When the world of techies is going by pure mathematical exactness in designing computers, Jobs gave them an aesthetic sense which he learnt in one of several odd jobs he did before founding Apple.

Now, how much of JObs role and how much is the several other engineers who worked in the background in the success of Apples iconic products such as Ipod and Ipad?

I just could not figure it out as yet.

Having said that Apple as an organisation had always come out with wonderful products notwithstanding their high prices. But one is yet to find how much of Jobs contribution in their creation.

Was Jobs role more in the creation of these beautiful products or in marketing them? If the latter is more then one should see Jobs as one with wonderful business acumen aka Warren Buffet. But if the former is more, then he surely was a different type of fish in the vast sea of techies.

Regarding his disappointment with India, is not unusual.

Many come to India seeking Nirvana and the meaning of life as India was projected thus in the West. When they come seeking Nirvana and knowledge about existence in this material world, they are often cheated like George Harrison of Beatles

Apple's product is just a hype and nothing else, there are lots of better products than apple's in the market.HTC make lots of better products without any fanfare, iphone lack so many features compared to other devices in the market.

APPLE is the one set the bench mark in Tech industry. HTC and Samsung are copy cat products. They never come up with something innovative.

Steve is arguably the most influential of original thinkers and innovator of our generation. His innovations will have an impact on not only current but future generations as well. Great inspiration and we feel fortunate to have lived in the same time and seen him innovating and announcing his original thoughts despite his health condition. May his soul rest in peace....Steve we cannot repay what you did for all of us...we only can prey.
