Exactly, these owners of Thumps Up, Champa Cola ran away from competition and surrendered. So did Ranbaxy and many other are unwilling to invest and compete, either cry foul or sell and run.
He is just making fool of people as he is afraid of competition.our traders feast on farmers blood.they enjoy such huge margin that they waist 30% of fruits and vegetable.
As always foreigners will teach us good things. these indians who r middlemen have looted us for decades and now r complaining. looking forward to wallmart and carfour
What he said is exactly right...whatever happening in the retail market right now is balanced and adjusted itslef by the internal factors (with in India). Once these MNCs come into the picture, this balance between the people and trader is largely influenced by the cheap dump from china. Eventually we will never see the paddy, except the rice and money with few and hungry and unemployment with many.
I am not sure if this guy is talking sense, is he complaining that prices will reduce..! I don't see that as a problem at all. He claims that they will sell things for losses until small retailers get out of business, but how can even they survive that long please remember this is one of the largest economy in terms of purchasing power parity.
First let this guy stop treating his employees as slaves. Also some one has to look at child labor and human rights in these kind of stores. If Iam not mistaken the store is now shutdown for building norms violations. The reality is that this whole sector is dominated by vested interests and middlemen who milk the system and artificially inflate prices...Both Retail and Real estate are notorious for this and for sustaining the black economy and FDI will clearly straighten things out. FDI will simply remove these middlemen and bring prices in line and more predictable, if not lower. The Indian public doesnt owe any thing to these desi retailers and kirana store guys.
As of no Kirana shop pays tax atleast with organized retail the tax receipts will increase allowing to fund development of nation. So lets see who will loose. 1. Shopkeepers 2. Middleman 3. Wholesellers.
Who will gain 1. Farmers 2. Industries 3. Government 4. Consumers 5. Unemployed youth
So as a whole beneficiaries outbid the loosers case dismissed.
Yes we will be slaves to MNC's If Fdi is allowed in retail but let me know are we not going to be enslaved by our own desi NRI's and Corporate thieves like you, reliance, more etc etc??u fear that u will lose the business and u not for the welfare of the indians Mr Rajaratnam...we indians will be exploited anyway by either MNC's or Desi C's..farmers and small traders were protesting against indian retail chains and they will do so against foreign retail chains but who cares..now all indian retail chains have their own products and labels as well as started farming various produces making marginal farmers on the verge of hunger and death..people like u r just selfish bastaards who are not crying for indians but for their own interests

The same situation was there when Big Bazar, Reliance Fresh, More, etc. opened their shops in the country. Retailers were afraid of their business and now what happened. Everybody is there in the field. Population is increasing, demand is increasing so retail structure is changing that is all.. everybody will be in their respective field...or look for alternate as time demands.
