To both the states they claimn the origin. Maybe it is from Bihar and Lalu invented. Which is true we dont know. Why argue about it when you can enjoy.

May be it originated and died down in Orissa, so no body remembers it. infact Rasogolla is treated as a bengali sweet allover the World - bad luck that Orissa could not preserve it's legacy, and now no point grumbling over it - grow up kids!

Dude just visit any Sweets Store in Orissa and you will find whether it's died down or not..Please do not comment based on your procrastination. And by the way there are many more famous traditional sweets invented in Orissa like Chenapoda, Rasamalei,Rasabali etc.
This is like many stories of plagiarism and hijacking, the products which originated in Odisha including Rasgolla with its long history in sweet-making of widest range of varieties of sweets that adorn the Great trinity's in Jagannath temple in everyday Puja. However it is nice to know that famous KCDas has given it the publicity, this great sweet deserves, the world over.

Dude just check your History books..earlier Orissa was called as Kalinga & then Utkala..and each Dynasty has a great history of its own..

there was no orissa?? Read wiki "history of Orissa " you will know .. I dont need to elaborate. Bengal came to existence only after muslim rule..

rasgolla was originated from jagannath temple in odisha.go to history.no need to argue.many Bengali claim that jaya dev, writer of gita govinda was from bengal,like they claim for rasgolla,which later proved wrong.so read history.don't argue unnecessarily.
