I know the progress and efficiency in terms of coverage of Bangalore Metro.

smaller linkages are more key. Fly overs linkages and better wider roads serves the purposes better now.Communication routes are not at all streamlined. Calcutta is better example of PVt Public participation.

Focus should be more in liberalising the transport licenses lobby. So that more pvt players come in.

Nuclear safety is a issue. We can't afford another Bhopal.

Hardly any canal govt build in rural areas that I have seen work or have water in them.Don know how efficient these much required river linkages will work.

Thanks rediff with the Updates more details of the projects are required.

I will give a liberal score of 55 out 100 to the solution proposed by Metro In Bangalore. The major Bus routes were required to be supplemented with metro. Some thing is better than nothing.

Big Big enough., Will they be maintained. Vashi Station in Navi Mumbai is not what it was a few years ago.
Indian people have to show to the world that they are clean, nice and tidy people.
Look at the Buses, Trains., they all look dirty.

Basic needs
by One Liner on Nov 22, 2011 07:27 AM  | Hide replies

All these are great. But instead of some mega construction projects which can wait, India should invest in providing schools to all first, next should be electricity, water supply, latrines and roads. Only after that think of other projects..

It needs to do both, the show must go on.. According to the neo-classical economics, GDP, inflation and infrastructure are part of the mainstream economies that needs to be handled in addition to the other features of neo-classical model which is

1. Basic water and electricity
2. Rural infrastructure
3. Mid-day meals, uniforms, books
3. Transportation, high schools
4. Playgrounds, parks, pavements
5. Restrooms and beautification
