Lets change ourselves.
by saptaswa sarkar on May 27, 2011 08:25 PM  | Hide replies

Being a Bengali, it is hard to tell but it is the fact that Bengalis are afraid of sudden change, they are, by and large, afraid of any new thing.. they are rather comfortable with tried ones. Though we need someone who is strict (some one like Narandra Nodi ?) in administration and can handle people in govt. But having said that I would say, on top of all these, We Bengalis need to change ourselves. We need to change ourselves to accept the fact and act accordingly. We need to change our perspective and our general attitude towards life. Because development is not about only agriculture or industries; its about our own character. When that happens, everything will fall in place in time. With that, development will take its own stride.

Marxist have put the death nail ....
by Shantanu Mukherjee on May 27, 2011 07:03 PM

Very rightly said in the article, the Marxist did all the rampage to make the state down in all development indexes. And the result is a cascading downturn in all aspects of life for Bengalis and the outcome is clear to everyone, people have become restless as they do not see any clear opportunity to strive for. Though it might sound awkward to a lot , but the fact of the matter is that Bengal need someone very autocratic yet development-centric who can handle this with a tough hand and perhaps Mamata Banerjee can fit in the shoes. At least we hope for that.

Mamta Banerjee

Mamta would do well to study Corporate Management. A policy of minimal interference while maintaining strict oversight will stand her Government in good stead.

New Govt has just started working. Judge it after giving it the scope to work. Bengal was ruined in last 34 years. I think now only choice left is to grow.

Don't expect miracles. We are not accustomed to radical overnight changes which anyway is not possible. Let it be a gradual slow process.

i never expected miracles. in fact, i have been saying it repeatedly over the past few months, the people of bengal have initiated change for the heck of it...nothing will change under TMC.
the more things change, the more they remain the same. :)

don't sound like Sonar bangla supporter. there has being No change in Bengal in 34yrs & I don't expect much of change in next 5yr. As this time would be spent in pulling left leg for each & every work done under there regime . There would be No Time Left to do new work.
