India among 6 countries set to redefine global economy
by raman govindan on May 22, 2011 12:26 PM

with a multi (cultural, ethnic and linguistic, religious base) India has an advantage over PR China besides it's large number of english speaking citizens who will ounumber even USA in a decade. prejudice against India exits only in pakistan because of historical reasons. and in China on account of ultra national sentiments which cannot be sustained over a long time. at the end marxists are secular and rational human beings wherever they are. we do not have to worry about Pakistan. it is a pinprick we have to face for a long time. our common man's sights have a larger and wider vision.

if we do our home work allright, our progress is sustainable for a pretty long time in spite our our greedy, corrupt inept politicians. just as we pay the packing charges that we pay for our purchases even though we throw them out after opening it. we have to live with them.

Rediff stop gas-ing the baloon, enough of yellow jounrnalism
by Parichay on May 20, 2011 07:07 PM  | Hide replies

GDP is growing but that only reflects corporate sector performance.

India a country where people find it hard to meet a square meal. No index showing "this real status" is not making stories in Indian media. Neither people in power talk about those.

In term of hunger index India is in bottom 20 along with African countries like - Congo, Tchand, Ethiopia (in bottom 20 only two are Asian countries rest are African countries).

Only Asian country Bangladesh is below India.

Which corporate media will let people know this side of the story. Alas!!!
