Yes talking about the high price of tea is irrelevant to the wages (as workers are not directly contributing to highest price company getting but it is company who is able to generate that high price) however genuine raise to wages (Rs 90 or 120 per Day) is not at all any overkill but very much human, legal, ethical & anything positive.

Article author is making ass of himself by talking about the price of tea , the idea should be if company in not in loss then it should pay atleast normal wages to workers if not exceptional.

You are correct most of authors in todays media are ass. They raise issues just to get attention and in turn make situation more worse, instead of getting solutions by good ideas and words in their article

Sayantan Beraji the tea leaf whent converted into tea in remains 18 to 20 %
simple 5 kg green leaf will be required to make one kg tea...

Silver or golden tips are 1 percent present in that tea
I kg tea have these type of tips 10 gram
to abstract these tips you need 100 kg manufactered tea or five hundred kg green leaf
cost of this will be rs 2500
other smanufacturing cost 500
tax and than they are selling it into premium market in londan

If its so easy then why govt garden, co-opertaive garden are not selling this and make huge profits

Well said bro.Such rationalisation does not work.In taht case a worker in Merc,BMW assembly line should be paid in millions. There is a cost to Branding and it is the brand which makes people shell out their money. Will you pay 10 Rs for a tea from a road side shanty ?

Dont worry - these are paid jounralism -to revivie another storm in Darjeeling- the journo doesnt have any idea about tea..let's ask -whats the per hour rate of her office buy and compare it with their prime slot ad rates..the officeboy per hour rate will be Rs 10.0 and the ad rates per hour Rs 100,000 -ask her for justice.

There are other factors as well for example the cost of living in London is 100 times higher then in India.
salary is also much higher.
compare all this and convert into percentage (the profit and pricing system used world wide) one will find that it cost same as it will cost in India.
If a months supply of tea take 10% of your monthly salary to buy in India then it also takes 10% of the monthly salary in UK as well.
We only look ate the figures and not the reality.
salary may be high in UK but the cost of living is high as well.
Price of petrol in India is about Rs 65 per liter it is 139.9 pence in UK now convert that in to rupees at today's rate it works out at £1.40 GBP       =101.910 INR now petrol is cheap in India.
Percent wise it is same.
now if we come to salary yes it is low in India very low i would say, all because the business people know how to exploit the worker if one is not ready to work at a low rate there is always some one else ready to work on even lower rate.
that kind of exploitation needs to stop only then the standard of living will rise in India.
If a rate is set and that is what should be paid nothing less. But that does not happen all because of corruption among law enforcers.
Lot of issues go hand in hand.
