Short of talent
by Deenadhayalan Naidu on May 22, 2011 10:21 AM

I have seen companies in india people in key technical position are filled by known persons with no tcehnical back ground and these companies are run by public shares.I would call this a hidden public money being looted.

No doubt
by French Cuisine on May 21, 2011 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

This will happen if most talented people here move away to America. The US alone has more Indian scientists working there, when compared to the number of scientists working in India. This is ridiculous but is a fact.

India is producing 3 million graduates, mostly Engineers, but not all of them can be readily employeed. Last year Silicon India, carried out similar survey in India and find out less than 20% of graduates meet the requirement of industry. Thus, shortage of manpower is sure to happen.

right talent vs wrong minds
by Raghavendra Bhat on May 21, 2011 12:51 PM

Indian companies are hiring talent but their skill-sets are are all muddled up and not the right ones, these HR managers do not know the difference between X and Y, ending up hiring the wrong hands. They pay to the wrong hands and the appraisals are a big sham. Real talent is not noticed within these companies and are bypassed with horrendous swiftness, they are staffed by incompetent and lame ducks. Guys with skill-sets in technologies which are costly and irrelevant are hired, attrition rates are not addressed and ethical standards are given the go by!

shortage of talent
by Subramaniam narayan on May 19, 2011 08:56 PM

THE FIRMS, HOWEVER BIG, ARE BEING RUN LIKE A KIRANA STORE. JUST USE THE MATERIAL AS IS AVAILABLE AND REPLACE IF THE BOY LEAVES BY ANOTHER BOY TO DELIVER YOUR GOODS DOOR TO DOOR. ABOVE THIS, THE MANAGERS BEHAVE LIKE LIKE BRITISH TIME LORDS, THEY ARE THERE TO HARASS AND RULE OVER THEIR SUBORDINATES, THEY THINK. NO FIRM HAS A LONG TERM POLICY. 'OUR HUMAN RESOURCES ARE OUR MOST PRECIOUS CAPITAL' IS A HOAX TO FOOL THE AUDIENCE IN THE SEMINARS.
