cut-off the petrol price hike
by vijay dadore on May 21, 2011 05:51 PM  | Hide replies

Dear All,
Did you know that how much people consume the petrol.

See- In administrative work of central & state government's work, like Police, MP, MLA, Collector office, other Govt department is consume the petrol & diesel near about 70% of total fuel consume rather than the people consumption is around 30% of total consumtion.

So imagine the 70% fuel expenditure's recovery is made from the people' pocket. Here also central, state & munciple corporation levied their taxes. That's why petrol price is hike.

So if govt curtail the fuel consumption on their various department and curtail the levied taxes on fuel, it will cause into reduction in petrol/diesel prises.

So think on... how much petrol/diesel is spent on govt department on " UNPRODUCTIVE PURPOSE".

Petrol price rise periodically
by swami pudipeddi on May 21, 2011 05:49 PM

The Congress party in its election campaign of 2004 accused the NDA Govt. of the price rise and common man was suffering. Thinking that that the life will be better people gave a fractured verdict but Congress party could cobble together a UPA Govt. From then on the prices of the petroleum products were rising continually. Now the Govt. put these products' price outside the Govt. control and the petroleum companies are rising the prices. But analysts are saying that the loss stated by the petroleum companies are notional and the duties are more than the actual cost. Therefore, if the Govt. is really interested in the welfare of the people and also in controlling the inflation should cut down the duties imposed on import of the crude. The state Govt. should bring down the Sales Tax component on these products. If this is done then there will be automatic price control and also inflation will be curbed. As long as these steps are not taken none is serious in the welfare of the people and control of the prices.

One thing most forgotten is the brutal and barbaric taxes levied on petroleum products. State govts levy almost 30% VAT and yet central govt is being blamed. The central govt levies an equally obscene and blood sucking customs and excise duty. The most logical question to be asked is what right the govt has to tax? Let them privitize everything and do what is its supposed to do - govern. Not running business and that too shoddily.

Raise to 150Rs
by ALbert ArulPrakashRajendran on May 21, 2011 05:23 PM  | Hide replies

IMO, the oil compaines should fix a liter of petrol as 150 Rs and leave us for good. I am telling this because in last 2 years it was raised 8 times with a huge marign. Always the oil companies cry that they are in loss and it should be10 rs or 20 rs.

if it is 150 Rs, then they will earn profit for sometime so they won't raise it for ext 5 years. We can also plan accordingly rather than living in a hell like when it will raise again.

At present price of petrol @ Rs. 67/= per liter Govt. (Central & State) gets Rs. 27/= in terms of taxes. How can be they are at loss? Athey think that people are fools. It is the inefficiency of the govt. that though earning 27 rupees per liter they are crying.

AT LOSS?
by guru on May 21, 2011 05:21 PM

This Govt. thinks people are folls. Govt. claims that they are still at loss at even present price of petrol & diesel. How it can be when one pays taxes as high as Rs. 27/= PER LITER. It is the shear in effeciency of the Govt. for not controlling the price.
