Fine, but Govt should not give free hand to builders to fleece and act as agency to acquire and transfer. Why there is no regulator for real estate. Forget regulators too they are good for nothing, Govt should check which is their basic duty towards citizen. How shameless, state Govts, to say centre should formulise land acquisition act; if they are not acting you should act and formulise. The problem is that they got vested interest and builders got license to loot in the name of infra development and world class cities etc. You know CPMs failure was to forget the basic rights of land of farmers. CPM was not in bribery etc which is common in state like UP.

Better Way ....
by dharmendra jadoun on May 21, 2011 06:56 PM

Govt should not plan town development instead just like Delhi should keep a blind eye and allow farmers to create unauthorized colonies by selling cheap plots.

This way everybody benefit -

1. Farmer Benefit - get almost same price what govt give as compensation.

2. Home Land buyer - get cheap plots between 3 to 6 lack for a 100 sq. Mtr plot

3. Police, development authority - get crores of money as bribe at every step of home building process.

See everybody is Happy - Those who worried about food security Please check where the Farming land of Delhi disappeared , have any farmer protested or anybody ?

Which one is better ?

In Delhi politician/( or Farmers themselves ) privately purchased and sell plots and created 70% of Delhi (Unauthorized Colonies).

In greater Noida Govt is planning well and developing world class cities.

COST of land that farmer got is same when they create/sell unauthorized colonies or what Govt give them.

Developers
by Dilip Mahanty on May 17, 2011 05:35 AM

The developers should pay back the money they have received from the people. The local authorities in connivance with the developers have allowed agriculture land to be used for urban development. Many middlemen have bought the land for a pittance and sold it at huge profit to the developer! The corrupt administration is allowing these transactions without even worrying about India's food security in future. What will the growing population of India eat in future?Bricks and mortars? May God rescue India from the hands of venal politicians who are hellbent on destroying trhe country!

Will you agree if somebody evicts you from your home and builds an apartment in its place? What business does the government has to do with acquiring land for residential projects? The first step that should be followed before buying a property is to check if there are any disputes. Only idiots will buy a property on which the dispute is well known.

i d i o t - there is not a single inch land in this nation without dispute.

Net sufferer is a common man at both end be it farmer or flat buyer.

The govt, the builder all are fine except common man.

If those whe confirm the validity of land (Govt) is itself defaulter then who should tell which land purchase is legal ?

Only a fool will pay money for a house that is yet to be built, especially when the land on which it is supposed to be built is disputed.

Who knows whether a land is under dispute or not.You can create any document for money in this land to hoodwink the public.

Large projects go on.Sometimes such trouble erupts.

In Singur, TATA shifted his industry comfortably. Some land owners received the land back and some did not.

The industry was not created and the lands are not being used by the owners. This is what politicians play at the cost of Aam Admi.

Now if Didi won Bengal because of Singur, will she bring justice to all the affected? Please wait and see.

Govt is giving incentives/subsidies to Tata/Infosys/Reliance etc to export their cars/software etc.
But stops Indian farmers from exporting their crops to foreign countries.
If this continues we'll revoke the 1932 Round Table Conference Resolution to seek Homeland for Muslims/Christians/Anglo-Indians/Sikhs/SC/ST communities via a Bill in Indian Parliament.
