by SREENIVAS on May 09, 2011 11:58 AM

We are hearing the oft repeated word broaden the tax net - what the govt will do after forcing us to shell out more and more money to the govt? employ more ministers! appoint more and more IAS officers!! for their luxury we are all contributing with out any choice, Not only service tax all theys pof taxes should be abolished, then the question willbe asked how govt will get revenue, for that incease the excise duty so that any one who uses/purchses some thing will only willpay the tax

Slabs in Service Tax
by Jignesh Gandhi on May 09, 2011 11:56 AM  | Hide replies

Service tax should be charged in slabs as per the charge of the service rendered.
For example:
1. If the telephone bill is upto Rs. 500 then service tax should be charged as 5% above 500 upto 1000 at 8% above 1000 10% etc.

Thus this will be helpful to medium class people who utilize less service then also taxed at the same rate.

To pay globalist masters, vatican congis will keep increasing taxes in one form or another! Which ever services are taxed, they ultimately get passed on to aam admis. Lungiman brought service tax saying - Don't worry it is only on few services and will not hurt. Look at how much the congis have taken out of aam admi's pockets!

Silly point. You have a problem with spending Rs.100 for some odd event, but are OK with lakhs of taxes in different forms that congis take away! Are you a congi indulging in distraction?

why private tutions should be exempt if ever ST is not abolished. Only basic conventional education should be exempt. In fact, I stand for no ST at all, only IT should suffice.

SERVICE TAX
by sudhir agrawal on May 09, 2011 11:45 AM

IN TODAYS ERA ,THE TYPE OF SERVICES IN ANY ECONOMY IS WIDE AND VARIED. IT HAS ASSUMED VERY BIG PROPORTION IN INDIAN ECONOMY.SO ITS LENGTH AND BREADTH IS FAR AND WIDE. THERE OUGHT TO BE SOME NORM AND LOGIC, THEREFORE , FOR TAXING SERVICES.
THE THUMB RULE SHOULD BE NOT TO TAX BASICS LIKE HEALTH, EDUCATION, FOOD SERVICES ETC WHICH IS NECESSARY UP TO MIDDLE CLASS LEVEL. MIDDLE CLASSES ,IN FACT, ARE GRADUALLY DRIFTING TO LOWER MIDDLE.WE MUST UNDERSTAND THE PRESENT DAY FRICTIONS IN SOCIETY ARE PRIMARILLY HAVE ECONOMIC BACKGROUND. SERVICE TAXES HAVE DISTINCT IMPACT ON INFLATIONARY FORCES.

Tax money is essential for growth.
by manoj kumar on May 09, 2011 11:44 AM  | Hide replies

Many indian live in fantasy. they want great train, road but wont like to pay tax. In west they pay 30% of income as tax. Obviously the govt has lots of money to buy best techology from world market and build massive infrastructur. In india most of people pay 0 to 2% tax. what do you expect. live in traffic jam and crowded train.
everybody in india should be taxed. even if you earn only Rs 1000 a month. Rs 100 a month should be taxed. thats only way we can live better and smooth life, otherwise keep dreaming.

Have you heard that if India gets its black money back, the govt. can run for 30 years at current prices without taxing single penny. Now I call that injustice to poor.

Tax should be one way not two way
by Save Tiger on May 09, 2011 11:43 AM

Either tax on income or tax on expenditure. Taxing both ways burdens common man and you often end up paying upto 50% tax in total.
