what is mumbai
by bhaskar on Oct 19, 2011 07:54 PM  | Hide replies

When 30% of indian slums are located here.. it is obvious that the money the rich earn is with the blood of poverty ridden people.

old and wrong information. India's per capita income is already over 1500 dollars. The writer seems to be ill informed.

Population
by Rahul Agnihotri on May 15, 2011 01:30 PM  | Hide replies

Just feel not fare to compare smaller states on basis of per capita income with population 1/4th or even less with states such as UP with population of nearly 20 crore, not to say that all is good in UP or governance is good there. Feel that because of easily available fertile land for ages population increased unchecked otherwise UP would have been number 1 or 2.

10 years are the worst years for maharashtra and people are not revolting against the bad govenanace. Reason being options are either slow death or hang till the death.

and over 30% of indian slums and 15% of india's poor people.. The money the industries produce is at the cost of exploitation of people suffering from poverty.
I hope Mumbai can never become stylish Bombay.. .They are plagued in dirt, filthiness and jam packed .U can plant 1000 bombs every yr yet the people will never leave and never care for the dead or security in Mumbai.
