Should a company shutter down, the payout from its assets would be in the following order 1. Financial Institutions 2. Banks 3. Debentures 4. UnSecure Debts like Fixed Deposits 5. Preference Shares and 6. Equity Shares. In such case Fixed Deposit Investors would receive refunds from liquidation only after Debenture Holders!
