Inheritnace Policies are the root of the Rot
by adess singh on May 05, 2011 08:41 AM

Human behavior is mostly controlled by the application of the principle of ‘reward and retribution’. Reward or its denial, punishment or its exemption can be an effective method for obtaining the desired behavior pattern.

The educated middle class is currently caught up in an effort to steeply raise the punishment side of the control in an attempt to curb corruption believing that this one attempt would rid their society of this malaise.

As is often the case the solution may lie on the other side of the control leaver, the denial of reward. Taxing large inheritance (say above Rs.50 million) by 40% may effectively curb big corruption.

In any case there is a dire need to rationalize our inheritance tax structure (at present there is no tax on inheritance regardless of its value) and bring it in line with other developed societies.

When a phenomenon is all pervasive, as is corruption in our society, there is actually an equally pervasive reason for the problem to persist.

This is something that anti corruption thought processes have some how missed out.

India follows the practice of unfettered inheritance, wealth a person accumulates in a lifetime is passed on (without tax) to the succeeding generation which in turn compounds the kitty to pass it on to the next generation.

The Indian society being family centric, unfettered inheritance act as a sweet poison, bonding a free person into a ‘dynastic slave

who is responsible..?
by Pavitra Asthana on May 04, 2011 11:25 AM  | Hide replies

These corrupt people are getting away because we don't care to speak up against them till we are not affected by it. this indifference has made them too bold, shameless and powerful. The least we could do is support people like Anna who (and his colleagues)is now being harassed by the government. We all have seen what happened to Tehela when they exposed BJP and what is happening to Assange.
Will we ever unite...? There is no other way out...we have to do it ourselves...no one will do it for us..

What happened to Anna Hazare, Baba Ramdev, Arvind Kejrival etc? The power of corruption is always supreme & honesty can never fight corruption in India. Its because our Parliament, Constitution, MPs,MLAs, Ministers, IAS,IPS & Govt Officials are all Corrupt. If there are any honest who constitute 0.0001% they are harassed by the corrupt & hence no one want to be honest to take punishment while the corrupt enjoy. So Corruption is the best policy in India. India already has the names of at least 600 people who have black money in Swiss banks & other tax heavens but the great Finance Minister wants to take all the time (to ensure that all the 600 get enough time to set right their records) even to announce their names let alone any effort to get back the money. There is also move to give them one time settlement option than confiscate the money (for reasons best known to him & his UPA)

UNEMPLOYMENT AND CORRUPTION
by Vikas on May 04, 2011 10:20 AM

Crores of talented youths are unemployed in India. Government services are now meant for persons with influence and money to bribe. Not surprisingly, inefficient and corrupt babus are providing 75% of Govt. services.

Example:
New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has mandate to recruit certain staff via DSSSB(Delhi Subordinate Services Sel...ection Board). But, who cares about the rules at NDMC. Thousands of contractors are regularly recuited by NDMC and are even converted to permanent employees after a few years of contracts. There is concensus at senior level in NDMC to pass unified resolutions favouring each other. The poor talented guy is left out to rot on streets and soon this guy learns a few tricks to cheat others and make life out of cheating... this poor guy is thereafter known as 'smart' in a few years, if he learns his tricks in cheating well.

In fact Corruption is the patent right of Indians. Guys you want something good to be written, hmmm.... tell me what will i get?

Corruption in India is not an easy task to remove= Its a FACT
by Narayanan Krishnan on May 04, 2011 06:24 AM  | Hide replies

Often people blame the politicians, civil service, police and local powerbrokers for corruption. Nevertheless, it is the general public that enclourages more and more intense corruption. Unless one can make public shamefaced thru youtube, facebook, twitter and emails, there will be continuous exchanges of smaller and larger lakhs of rupees as QuidProQuo.
No one has the real guts to stop this disasstrous path, since everyone is in hurry and cannot wait for the due process of law and order to survive.
How often we notice that the retail corruption for very simple tasks, one gloats that some baksheesh or paperweight is needed to achieve mindless success (!) We have to joing hands with Anna Hazare and root out the devil.

Truly agree with you. Charity should begin at home. We have no qualms in undervaluing and registering properties by bribing the subregistrar, all in the garb of saving 2 or 3 % stamp duty. We have no qualms in greasing the Cop while caught jumping a signal etc., or greasing RTO to get a licence. We as citizens need to take the initiate not just offer lip service to corruption

corruption from PM to PM
by Ramesh on May 04, 2011 12:57 AM

There is corruption from panchayat member (PM) to prime minister (PM). It simply became as a monster that no one can eradicate it.

Hazare started good effort and I hope people will support him and take this movement forward to eradicate corruption from India.

Cong govt is trying to create obstacles by slinging mud against civil society leaders, by filing cases against the them etc..

People stood strongly behind Hazare in this fight and it is truely amazing the way Hazare united all the Indians against this maniac.

Hope that strong lokpal bill come soon and Hazare will continue his fight on several other issues that India is facing such as money in elections, uncontrolled prices etc..

Wipro owner is holding 90% of the share himself including Fremji Foundation, SEBI WARNS SUCH COMPANIES.
SEBI says its kind of Securities and Exchange SCAM, which wipro is doing.

Wipro ties-up with Lavasa Land Scam & Dehli Airport !!!

Wipro has invest around Rs 100-crore (Rs 1.0 billion) in infrastructure and other value-added services in Lavasa city, the first of its kind venture in the world.

Fremji can use his Swiss Black money to make Original one, like he used in Subeksha investment, so the result know every one.

Fremji has supported his son in rape & marriage of BJP girl in mumbai. Premji Purchased 600 Acres of Land in bangalore from BJP by bribing billions of dollar.

BJP has got Hindutva agenda ???
MNS want to throw ousider ???

Give any secular answer that Fremji belongs to Burma or bangaladesh, so MNS has daring to trow out premji & his family from the Mumbai.

Is BJP has daring to ask him why he has supported his son in rape & marriage of BJP girl in mumbai ??

Fremji's second son also was in rape case with Manisha koirala, any way she married to nepali.
Fremji are from Bhutan, so he should choose his second daughter in law from bhutan !!!

If you're from forward caste community you can be corrupt and escape from prosecution/punishment.
Because BC/SC/ST/Minority communities have no Reservations in Indian Supreme Court.
