the project is boundto fail cuz TATA always makes flawed investments, imperfect products, overhyped strategies and overambitious plans.

good to see

there is a long way to go b4 these kind of technologies actually get commercialised or made to use by masses. But efforts in this direction are really appreciable. One day we are sure to have abundantly available natural resource to create electricity. But hope this kind of research does not make a basic necessity like water more costly and unaffordable..

wait till it is commercialized
by Ramanasri buddhiraju on Mar 30, 2011 10:49 AM

There is much hype in this kind of technologies. Let us wait for the technology to be developed sufficiently to be commercialised.

Awesome, great achievement

This invention will change the World. Extra ordinary.

This is the difference between MIT and IIT. MIT invents things that change the world for good. IIT just produces managers who make easy money when others do the real work. Ever wondered what great technology was developed by IIT or IITians? If IIT produces 99% managers out of it's total output, then doesn't it make sense to call it "Indian Institute of Management" instead of calling it "Indian Institute of Technology"? Crores of rupees of public money goes into blackholes called IITs to produce graduates who eventually settle abroad. Those who don't get chance to go outside, sit in managerial positions in branches of MNC. Others do the real work and so called IITians get all the credit, benifit, promotions, hike ....

What you said is true. IITians are good in analytics & memory but have no creativity. That is why they end up being managers, bureaucrats and entrepreneurs. They are the by product of the Indian schooling system which is based on read and vomit.....while the western system of education is based on creativity, knowledge generation and presentation. No wonder we do not have any IITians win a Nobel Prize.

wishful thinking about gobar, we thought the same for bhopal as well.

this is what india needs instead of nuclear energy deal

this should be the deal india needs to get instead of nuclear deal (for kickbacks) which is getting us a nuclear bomb called nuclear reactor/plant/etc into india controlled by videshi. Though they will lie that indians will be trained or assemble it.

don't be too critical on this...the fact that thr is possibility of energy generation from water is enough sucess. Input and output can be tweaked as long as formulae is sucessful...

people like you rather appreciating go in minute details as if you are a world class scientist

formula was always there. Everyone know how to split oxygen and hydrogen. How efficient it is, is the question he is asking. How much time it takes. He's just curious. since these can be simulated in lab often stay they due not being able to scale. It would be great if anyone has such a product.
