Polythene menace........
by joney dua on Jun 07, 2018 12:15 PM

I and many more have agreed to reduce the usage of plastics and polythene, but that's will only.
Shouldn't government ban manufacturing of Styrofoam and polythene initially? In no case revenue earned from its manufacturing will ever outshine cost incurred in cleaning from environment (cleaning Ganges and Yamuna are live examples). Also Government must share the hurdles in banning its manufacturing and ideas will automatically come out from public. Singing sermons of Not to use plastics and polythene will only give way to clever marketeers to advertise their non plastic products only, which will eventually be more harmful than good.

PLASTIC BAN HAS BECOME A FASHION.....NO BODY TAKING IT SERIOUSLY.
by Sahoo Dhruba on Jul 22, 2017 12:31 PM

Plastic ban is very very simple. The Whole world will control it within a year. Impose little bit of higher taxes ( excise ) then its paper substitute, people will prefer paper than plastic.Year by year keep it increasing. You will see substantially its use has come down.Any body who else use will pay accordingly.

Do not allow plastic in market like Gutkha, eatable companies like Lays, Haldiram, Bikaneri, and even the milk vendor co., like Amul, mother diary etc., Use some other packaging item instead of plastic. Plastic carry bags should anyhow be banned. We use plastic for our comfortability and it kills the soil makes poisonous resins grow in the soil which in return propagates the output in the yielding products by polluting it. After some years you will all be witnessing the problems. It will directly effect on the health of the people of this and coming generations. Now the plastic usage has become the great headache for not even government but also to the users and public. Already every village, taluka, medium and large cities and districts are being effected by this. Say for example if we go by train from one city to another, we can see the plastic disposables all the way on and near railway tracks. Nearly 40% of the Indian soil has been effected by the plastic disposables. After some years may be to my fear, the ground water which comes out may contain harmful and poisonuous plastic resin compounds, which will harm the people when consume it... So just think by nowself and take remedies to live or to allow plastic use still more and ready to die....

Population control awareness

India and China account to 40% of world population, imagine how cramped we are in this country. If measures are not taken there will be struggle for everything in the future. Please limit to one kid per family. What is the point in having a billion people that is not worth producing a quality soccer team that can at least qualify for WC< let alone winning it. 1/10th of the whole Uttar Pradesh population lives in Australia with double the land space of India. Please free up the world to have better quality life by limiting to just one kid per family

In India its not possible to implemement Ban on Plastic bags. earlier also the Govt of India for No smoking in Public. All the states are not implemented or Honored the SC order, they dont want to loose the income of the state. Simply they come with bullshit stores, if all depends on people, if they don't smoke or don't use plastic back, automatically the industry will close, they put the blame on common but don't take any actions or Honor the SC decision.

Levy Plastic Bag tax.
by r murali on Mar 28, 2011 03:44 PM  | Hide replies

Every bag should be charged a flat tax of Rs. 10 at least at the manufacturing stage itself irrespective of the cost of the bag. This will force every one to carry their own cloth bag etc and the sale will come down drastically and eventually lead to disappearance of plastic bag.
