What Mamata Banerjee thinks today, India will think tomorrow!
by mailme alladin on Mar 25, 2011 07:42 PM  | Hide replies

I see lot of my friends repent - once it used to be what 'Bengal thinks today, India will think tomorrow', but after 30 years of CPM rule it got reversed. I don't want to debate that here - that may be different debate. For a moment let me agree with it and on that ground CPM govt. should go. TMC will come to power and Mamata will be the CM and Bengal will get her old glory. What will happen then - 'What Mamata thinks today, India thinks tomorrow'. Can you imagine what will happen to India!

I think IT IS BETTER TO HAVE A KNOWN DEVIL THAN AN UN-KNOWN ONE. since most of the ground level hooligans who were crowding around CPM left them and now crowding with TMC after the last Lok Shabha election. TMC also have few and this new mix has become more un-controllable by their leaders. Their attidudes is questionable now only before they are into Power in Govt. I don't know what they will be if they get in Power. ???

Prediction
by Haramohan Roy on Mar 25, 2011 07:29 PM  | Hide replies

It is very difficult to predict election results - especially for a politically volatile state like West Bengal.

However, here is an attempt:

CPM plus Left Front --- 120-130
Trinamool --- 150-160
Congress --- 20-30

So, there is a strong possibility that Mamata will form the government. But what will happen after that?

Nobody knows!

I heard she will create a 'public grievances' ministry , with its office to hear grievances -
There will be a opinion collection form that will ask the points of grievances as well as the alliance of the aggrieved man witha party.
Then the non TMC men's grievances will be paid more attention after a
ground check .
I think its unique
NOBODY HAS DONE SO FAR!

Lets leave politics out for a while. It's look like Mamata is not driven by her own brain any more. After seeing Mamata for so many years even a child in Bengal can conclude, this idea was lent to Mamata by some intelectual(s). This sounds good as a slogan, but can you think this will work. Do u remeber Budha;s slogan few years back - 'Do it now'. What happened to that?

One News is going in the air is that IF She Comes into Power She will open the Bidhan Parishad once more which was long being abolished. That means the party will have the right to put their selected candidates as MLA in this upper house and will put more Govt. money into ditch by paying them allowances/ Perks/ Power /Pension / Benonolent funds etc etc. for them !!!!!

CPM has no ligitimate ground to rule for another 5 years. Let us experiment with new one. Gov. should keep on changing . People of WB voted in favour of CPM for last couple of years for what? Communism is obsolate ...ofcourse no longar workeable in our state too.It is a time to change, pls change now ..or except Waste Bengal forever.

If a State provides rice and other food items at a very cheap rate i.e. Re.2/- per kilo rice, there is need to check the States debt towards the Central Government. Why one States BPL people should be at an advantageous position.

8th Left front is on the way...
by Superman on Mar 25, 2011 04:04 PM  | Hide replies

Though with marginal difference....The only reason is, mamata banerjee's wrong candidate selection.....Opposition will win 53%-55% of votes, but share it among themselves...With 45%-47% vote, Left front will win.....

Mamata again blew up another chance.....TMC will do good only in Kolkata, barackpur industrial belt, Howrah, South 24 parganas, East Midnapur (chance was that they will get 16 out of 16, but now becasue of wrong candidate selection, they can win maximum 11)...

Left will win Burdwan, bankura, West Midnapur, South Dinajpur, Purulia.....

north Dinajpur, maldah and Murshidabad will be 50-50 or won by Congress...

Hooghly will be 50-50....Arambagh part will be won by CPM..rest will be won by TMC....

The rests (Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar) will be so divided that it would be difficult to predict....Only Ashok Bhattacharya is guaranteed to win from Siliguri.....

Rather than popular hype, TMC will stop at 100....only because of wrong candidate selection...

Left will win 158....They will win marginal seats like Metiabruz, Kolkata Port, Pashkura East, Dumdum, Dumdum North only because of Mamata's folly....

mamata is about to blame the whole world (mostly Congress and Lefts) for her impending debacle...But this time, she is the only person responsible for this...

i hope with great confidence that total left front will achieve not more than 15 seats in forthcoming election. their old so called strong hold centres like burdwan, west midnapore, bankura etc are no more strong and finally left's age old manipulating rigging practice will not be possible now. so defeat is certain and every bengali knows who is going to chief minister of bengal next.

Superman, this seems to be a reasonable assessment. Your explanation is acceptable as it's backed by districtwise breakup. I don't know whether left front will come to power or not, but one thing is sure it'll not be a cakewalk for Mamta Banerjee as their ordinary and media supporters are thinking. The over-confidence of her supporters shows they are far from realty.

Hi!, I think it is a fair estimate. Unlike what Derek and many TMC payroll web bloggers might write. It is going to be an intersting election but again bad times for Bengal. Sadly, Bengal will still loose on till the time the people of Bengal are more concious, demanding and united(not infighting).

Superman,

I never knew you were an astrologer. As far as elections are concerned. I have not seen any colour other than red from the day I was born. Let me share a disturbing fact that the present state govt has just killed a generation. There was a time when it was believed "WHAT BENGAL THINKS TODAY, INDIA THINKS TOMORROW". Now the fact is just the opposite. Let us at least have a balanced judgement & give a chance to the opposition & see what they can do. If they fail we can always go back to the dark ages.

THIS TIME CPM WILL RECEIVE APPROPRIATE LESSION
by subrata banerjee on Mar 25, 2011 03:21 PM  | Hide replies

CPM and their left coaliation government in westbengal considered till recently that begalis are fools and they will remain slave under communist rule as they are expart in manupulating election machinery right from booth level. In addition this Left front remained most obedient to the central government and continued support with huge strength of MP from bengal without taking any responsibility of central government. In the way CPM and left front remained in power in west bengal state and dominate bengalis with CADRE RAJ. There cadres were enough to take administrative steps (bypassing police, court) in the state for last 35 years and their ruling remained final. CPM ALSO POLITICISED BENGAL'S LONG GLORY OF EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS AND TURNED ALL UNIVERSITIES, COLLEGES, SCHOOLS HEADS AND THEIR TEACHING STAFFS TO REMAIN YES MEN OF CPM HEAD QUARTER AT ALLIMUDDIN. Primary teachers in bengal are none but CPM's own cadres and every one knows it in bengal. THESE PRIMARY TEACHERS REMAINED MAIN TOOLS IN MANIPULATING ELECTION PROCESS IN THE PAST AND HELPED LEFT FRONT GOVERNMENT6 TO COME TO POWER. and what to speak about industry... every bengali knows how they lost their huge huge jobs as industries (small, medium, and large)were forced to close with continuous undue pressure from CITU UNION (affliated with CPM) and this union continue to receive direct patronage from their political party and from the left governemnt. PEOPLE OF BENGAL KNOWS WHAT TO DO NOW.
