'liberalisation, globalisation and de-regulation' which in essence really means taking hugely from commoners and giving hugely to the very rich (big-time thieves) !

If you are a commoner (middle class ), have you not benefited from from glo.. liber.. de-re... ? Check how much you are earning compared to what your father was. How much has the economy taken away from you? Give figures if you have any.

Forget me.

There were 86000 manual scavengers in Tamil Nadu in 1991. Now there are more than 3 lakhs (admitted by the ruling party in the assembly). Manual scavenging is just one among numerous inhuman occupations that millions are engaged in today in increasing proportions because of grinding poverty and rising living expenses ! And the Indian state has increasingly abdicated its responsibilities by pulling out of more and more welfare systems such as health, education, employment generation, etc. and leaving the field wider and wider open for private predators !

Tamil Nadu is allegedly one of the fastest growing state in India under the new-age model driven by 'growth' !

Ahmedabad city, that alleged mascot of 'hyper growth', today has 65000 manual scavengers (pronounced and declared illegal by every government in India). Figures from the World Sanitation Congress report 2009.

Both the National Sample survey of the 'growth' chanting govt. of India and the World Bank agree on one 'little' statistic; viz, that the percentage of Indians earning/spending (that includes the expenditure of children) less than Rs. 20/- per day is nearly 80 % !! This figure, by the same NSS, was 68 % in 1991 !!

Do you see the implicit message ??

So forget the experiences of the thin middle class (the upper middle class, I mean) and take a gool look at the whole picture and make your judgement !

Above 54 billionaires(exclude Mittal who is London based), holds USD 247 billion.Approximately 17 % of GDP.

Another 500 millionaires hold 50% of GDP Nominal.

So,balance 32% of GDP Nominal is hold by balance 110 crores population or 460 billion is hold by balance 110 crores population.

So,actual GDP nominal per capita of 110 crores Indian is USD 418 ,even less than many African countries...
