Neither He nor anyone else in India will make such a charity. he is businessman and he knows where to peep in to get his expected outcome. University will start functioning and all upper class member will pass out without any knowledge and wipro will hire them immediately...

so do you think all the students will study there for free. NO WAY. So at the end of the year he will laughing all the way to the bank. The figure that he mentioned to start it is what he will spend on the infrastructure and then each student will have to pay their admission fee, form fee, and ever other fee that you can think off. "There is no free lunch anywhere"

I do not blame you -you have been blessed to be born and live in the land of looters and can never trust anyone doing good in our society .As far as I am concerned it is Merit which should be only criteria .No place for beggars and reservations.

The degrees being offered are in education, development and teacher education. I don't think Premji has a requirement for such qualifications in his companies. Instead, it could only help the country. So pls do appreciate someone trying to make an effort for the society

He is the only businessman declared to spend each penny from his 20 billion $ for charity. He spared only few crores for his children

In December 2010, he pledged to donate $2 billion for improving school education in India. This would be done by transferring 213 million equity shares of Wipro Ltd, held by a few entities controlled by him

Try to understand the meaning of Not-For-Profit. Wikipedia also belongs to this category. They still need cash for operation. Some depend on only donation. Some provide services mainly to raise funds. Even CRY employs people which is charity organization. How will they pay salary to employees?
In short, the only difference is they are not driven by profit goals. But still they need account/balance book. Students pay fees, which in turn is paid as salary to teachers. Premji's donation will be used mainly to setup infrastructure.

70% of students going abroad to earn money and settle down in abroad though education. They are ready to do any kind of job in abroad to settle theselves. so dont think that getting higher education is their main motto. This is easiest way to enter in abroad.

Please note India is facing crisis of quality teachers, which can be produced by only higher education institutes. If there are no teachers, who will provide the primary education? High dropout rates in class IX-X level is due to realisation by the students about their futile labour in studies so far. It is a crime to provide dreams, which will never materialise.

...u missed the point here...Premji isnt offering an MBA or Btech from his universities...he's realised that what the country needs today is good teachers from the primary level and that is what his univ. is trying to achieve.

average parents pay this kind of fee to all very substandard universities all over India. I doubt is not affordable fee structure for indian middle class, if their wards are given quality education
