Poverty in china may be more comparing to India, but discipline is superb, whereas our leaders and govt. babus are highly concerned with their rights without observing duties and discipline.

Discourage child labour. Do not offer alms to kids sympathising with them. These are indirect ways of discouraging population explosion as the poor believe producing kids as a way of fighting povery thus further burdeining the community and making lives of others also difficult.

Here is few examples for chinese honesty:-

In July 2009, Namibian anticorruption investigators alleged that a state-controlled Chinese contractor had facilitated a $55.3 million deal to sell the Namibian government security scanners with millions of dollars in kickbacks. The inquiry is particularly delicate because until late last year, Hu Haifeng, the son of President Hu Jintao, ran the scanner company. A Chinese Commerce Ministry official recently said that China was cooperating with the Namibian authorities.

Another investigation centers on allegations that a Chinese weapons company funneled $700,000 to Lt. Gen. Martin Shalli, the commander of Namibia’s defense force. Namibia’s president suspended General Shalli from his post in July. General Shalli so far has declined comment.

Mr. Gill said such allegations threatened to undermine China’s impressive campaign to link its development with Africa’s. Over all, while China is making “an enormous and positive contribution to Africa’s development,” he said, it is still unaccustomed to the dynamics of some African democracies.

Indians are topper in depositing money in swiss banks followed by Russians but chinese are not too far from india, they are on No.4 position.

I am very amused to read all the scathing remarks about our country and comparing their growth with ours. Why are we forgetting that we can write all this without being jailed for a single comment like this?

You think Chinese would get arrested and jailed for writing this type of article? You really know zilch about China. You can write 100 times "worse" article than this and carry on with what you do for a living. Chinese websites are full of articles far more scathing than this. You should learn Chinese, visit Chinese internet forums and see for yourself what the truth is rather than being brainwashed by your own or western media.

by piri on Mar 11, 2011 12:07 AM  | Hide replies

less than 2 $ per day income.

But, according to the same WB, 56 % of Indians live on less than 1 $ per day !!

And the no. of Indians living on less than 2 $ per day is 83 % !!!

Talk of an over used pot calling the kettle black !!

That's a mistake. The correct number is 50 million, not 500 million. So much for the standard of India journalism. lol!
