All petrol pump owners are cheaters.
by Herry on Mar 09, 2011 11:01 PM

All petrol pump owners are cheaters.
What RAJ said below is totally true. My office peon works at Petrol Pump in the evening. He told me that he can save me over 100 Rs on 1 tank fill up in Alto.
I asked how? He replied by NOT CHEATING. So when you fill up Petrol worth 1000Rs - 10% goes to our corrupt indian brothers.

Ok..but will they go down once the prices are back to normal?
by Passed on Mar 09, 2011 10:31 PM

This is vicious cycle. They increase rate when prices go up in market, but do not bring it down when prices go down.

This has been happening since First Gulf War. Also why not government of India encouraging people to select alternate fueled vehicles?

time to shift to diesal cars

time to shift to diesel cars

Diesel cost less and Diesel car has more mileage. I think maintenance is almost same as petrol car for new generation diesel engines

Don't take it for granted, diesel costs more than petrol in europe. It all depends on the demand, in India if the cost of diesel shoots up, then it may not be as cheap as it is now.

Are we really paying extra to our beloved Govt??
by RAJ on Mar 09, 2011 01:39 PM  | Hide replies

1.      Even if we take 100$ for 208 L (bbl) it comes to 4500 Rs. If we add freight and fractional distillation costs it will add another Rs 5 per litre. Thus the cost to Indian Oil etc is 4500/208 = Rs22 5= Rs 27 only. Rest is all munafakhori at various nodes of the value chain.
2.      We all know that we have been paying Rs 2 per litre as road cess towards development of Golden triangle ( Vajpayees dream project of 13000 kms , out of which 3500 kms already exsited before the project was born and balance 9500 Kms at a staggering Rs 135,000 crores , oh Rs 14 Crore per KM without any new road to be constructed , just 4 laning , horrible!!!).
3.      Imagine how much petrol and diesel is consumed every day and multiply by Rs2 .Where is the accounting for that. Ask the GOVT and musical chair playing Finance ministers. YET ALL Oil companies are at a loss.
4.      We still move on worst roads in the world with our swanky cars. We are paying toll on shit roads. Everywhere in the world TOLL road means faster traffic and also there is a parallel non toll road also. But in India BJP has taught the corrupt Ministers another way of minting money. Good Luck Mr Khanduri ( Ex Road Minister)
5.      Few of my friends own a lot of petrol pumps and have been cheating all of us for donkey no. of years by pilfering , mixing and cheating on quantity-- all taught by Oil company corrupt employees.
6.       Pl ask all petrol station guys to fill your tank in the multiple of 5 litres on auto mode ie put 5 L and then make

6.       Pl ask all petrol station guys to fill your tank in the multiple of 5 litres on auto mode ie put 5 L and then make 0 and again 5 and make 0 and so on. I bet 90 % petrol pumps will not give u petrol. The meter is caliberated for first 5 litres and after that they cheat 10-15% on each litre. Go and check your self. I consume 270 litres of petrol every month and many petrol pump guys do not want to sell to me. Since I shout and they are scared to loose customers , they give us petrol reluctantly. BTW this was taught by a Sr Mgr of a leading Petrol Co.

Good post Raj

Raj 5th and 6th point is 100 % true.

I had a Tenant at my place who was working at a petrol pump.He used to bring a can full of petrol every weekend at his room.one day i asked him how you manage to bring it every weekend and he replied that the meter is tampered at the petrol bunk hence we get a lot of petrol like that.
so just imagine 50 litres of petrol every weekend.so he gets 10,000 rs per month by way of cheating.

Mr Raj u seem to be very knowledgeable but first of all the crude which India imports is not NYMEX it is Brent crude (which is 114$ per barrel today). Kindly rework your calculations. There are duties(excise, import, Exchange rates and PPP factor to pricing)
