This Post is based on the premise that paying higher fares ensures better service. It is not necessary to be so. Service and fare need not be linked, though profitability is important.

nexus inside railways

A very big nexus is running inside railways which affect running of trains, schedules etc. Often the bus syndicate which reaps huge money pays bribe to keep trains away. This is very evident. Take Yesvantpur - Kuchuvelli express (Garib Rath). It starts on thursday and the entire train remains empty. Not more than 100 passengers per trip. Why ? Because first, if it runs on weekend like friday, it would be full and the bus syndicate will lose money. 2nd the stoppages in main stations are not there and 3rd, if some non-A/C compartments were added, it could have attracted many people. Now who would take this decision ? Offcourse the railway officials, but would they ? No...they are all bribed

Less than 15 hours for 1000 km!!!!!!!!!
I drove from Toronto to Boston around 1000K in 9 hours (out of which 1 hour was at US border crossing)

It can be improved with better management. I strongly feel so. I see Duranto running from Bengaluru to Kolkata in 28 and half hours which I think can be done inside 24 hours because it doesnot stop other than for its own logistic reasons at 3 places. But why its unable to do so ? Because of inefficient handling of tracks. Our trains spend on an average 5-6 hours on a 24 hour journey waiting for signals. If it is not waiting, then it is running slow just to accomodate other trains. I strongly believe this could be made better and the travel time could be reduced

why not seat sharing with SECULAR NCP OR JD(U) or DMK or BSP or SP or RLP or ... why only congress and bjp fake opposition nexxus bosses around.

Bjp is hidden nexxus partner for congress, a polarizer by nationalism-religion and vote splitter as well.

Congress getting and wanting 1/3 seats (and more where they can go alone) from each state means NO SMALL PARTY can do the same alliances with congress in multiple regions outside their state and thus smaller party and india become subservient to congress dirt and control. Congress, which also has hidden nexxus with bjp. And has in past bough leftist to bow before them.
It i s Like how angrez bargained with every state (kingdom) in india to rule india by promising security (money) to kings of each state. So who are the enemies in congress doing all this. they are traitor indians.

Cat Sonia wants 1/3 from all weak states to become permanent queen. This is far worse than despotic rule because it rules the divided. She gets 1/3 from every weak state by carrot and stick (CBI/CVC/etc). Or by bjp-congress nexxus to split voters OR split votes by puppet parties and independents. Top it all with selective EVM rigging. HORRIBLE.

If you want SECULAR then there are so many parties such as NCP,RLD, SP, BSP, etc. bring them for support as seculars. WHY CONGRESS seat sharing and backing congress-bjp.

If you want opposite of seculars, there is Shiv Sena, then why congress's fake opposition BJP to share seats and fall in bjp-congress trap

What a dramatic title!!
I do agree with one of the comments here, the writer clearly seems prejudiced!
The railways can surely do with a little more than a 'touch up' and such has been the case since the birth of railways in India! However, how is that insult to aam admi, and particularly by Mamta, is still beyond me!!
My conclusion: this is an extremely average article with a misleading title.
