Why to differenciate between Govt. money and private oweners money. Aam Aadmi do not see any different types of notes printed for private and public enterprises.
It was when the private persons were dicriminated to do any buissness profitabaly. Is Govt contributing a proportionate subsidy to the private owned persons.
Same thing is there for Retail outlet, why to continue with the buissness when private can well competitively handle it.
It is only the UNION controled by some or other party, and the proficiency of the workers-including pilots.

Common Man
by exit reality on Mar 06, 2011 04:01 PM

Past governments in India(a SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC) forgot the Social Welfare responsibility. Common Man here is suffering and Civil Servants are enjoying huge salary benefits. The gap between real poor and rich has widened in alarmin rate. Everywhere social and political exploitation happens. CORRUPTION is widely accepted as a way to do things fast. No governments here want all sections of people grow as they want to maintain their votebank by giving subsidy offers and reservation status to be be in power. People here are fed up with the system and vote incapable person as they don't have other options. We need a change from grassroot level to eradicate the evil practices here. The current corrupt politicians should be defeated for life time. Divisive forces should be alieniated from power. God save this country. People use your voting power wisely.

ASSISTANCE TO AIR INDIA
by v vv on Mar 06, 2011 11:09 AM

Tax payers money should not be contributed for running AI. If AI is not able to run on their own funds, let them enter into deals with Other Airlines, by selling some of their traffic rights, second their staff for working with Other Airlines, use their Training Department properly, Engineering base to offer services to other airlines. There are various ways to make money if you run an airline, but Air India failed to raise their standards. 90% of tax payers in India have never flown - why should their money to be offered to run this airline. Instead, a luxury tax to be levied for purchase of tickets - say 20% of the cost of basic fare on all tickets to be taxed, and this amount should be used for running Air India.
All tax payers should join together to protest against Government support to Air India.

by sk ms on Mar 06, 2011 09:13 AM

airline is not a necesary service unlike railways.. so wny even give any grants or money.. its thir business to be profitable or atleast no loss.. else let them shut down.. its not charity.. get the govt off the busines s some wil lose jobs but good ones will anyways find other jobs...and for occasionally ferrying people effected by somethng in other countries even hiring private airlines at some cost will be more cost effective

Air India bleeds because of its bossess, there is nothing wrong with their staff, within the given limitations they are ok

Let the govt and babus stop the free trips and kick all expats then they can be nourished back to health
