Bharat Nirman program to provide rural broadband connectivity to all 2,50,000 panchayats in the country. The plan to build the National Knowledge Network to connect 1500 institutions of higher learning and research through optical fiber backbone by March 2012 is a step in the right direction. Budget 2011-12 proposes to include urea which is the most consumed fertilizer by volume, under the direct subsidy route under the Nutrient Based Subsidy scheme. The budget had given a provision for 2% interest subvention to farmers who borrow short term crop loans and pay back on time.
Paying bribe should be eligible for deduction and TDS. Taking bribe should have been declared a taxable income. If the FM had brought these new provisions things would have been easier for everybody because one would have known the rates without middlemen.
What a joke? 58000 cr for Bharat Nirman and 176,000 cr for Raja Nirman. Just 2000 only for common man. 180,000 tax free for common man and 176,000 cr tax free for politicians.

This budget allocation to any dept like Food,education will spend more money for their only.For education dept,among 20% hike 12% goes to teacher's salary.So,major share will be pocketed by govt emp.Only meager amount reaches the needy one.All the dept have surplus staff for no reason.Govt should come out to reduce the expense on salary & their pension so that real people would be benefited.And ,train existing emp to work efficiently .If not,privatize most of the dept except defence,police.
