Even by this definition, there has to be a bigger number of Indian HNI's... the foreign banks didn't set up shop for only 1.5 lakh people in a population of 1.2 billion in a trillion dollar economy!! .... perhaps, the sample was small and yes, don't confuse "ownership" with "effective control"!!
You don't need Swiss banks to stash black/corrupt/illegal money. Private banks in India viz Citi/ICICI/HDFC etc will give you a numbered a/c if you lobby through proper channels.

There is lots of Black Money involved in real estate market............. Please set up National Real Estate Regulator. There should be some rebate for aquiring 1 house. Some higher taxes for owning a second house and very very high tax for owning three or more houses... Like wise, this artificially created scarcity for houses can be OVERCOME!!!!!
