Cost of the product

I don't understand the cost of the products in the market. A TV or a computer is a high tech product, involves lot of research, semiconductor production, material science etc and costs say around 20-30 thousand rupees. Then why a sofa set costs almost the same prise or more? A car is a car. If one car costs 2 lack rupees the other car can cost 4 lacks, 6 lacks etc but I don't understand why it costs 1 crore or more.

They want to keep the cars exclusive.Hence one crore plug price tag.
They want only the bania crooks and netas/babus to afford it.

cost of commodities that are used to make the product. Eg. cell phones need some quantity of silver, cars need paladium, etc. These are expensive to buy so thats number 1. Number 2 is the number of competitive products in the market and the price at which they sell the same product. So, if there are very few to compete with, you can afford to price your product higher based on demand, which brings me to poing number 3. Demand, usually this can be real demand or fabricated demand meaning if they want only a certain segment (millionares) to buy the product to maintain a specific image etc etc. These are the basic parametres for cost pricing. Now vegetables and food products do not need silver and iron but they are heavily dependant or climatic conditions, soil quality, global warming etc. For more info. you can refer to any economics 101 text.

A Billionaire can not buy a car having price tag of Rs.5 lakhs. It would be a humiliation for him to ride in that car. He will opt Car of the value of Rs. 50 lakh and above then only people will recogonise him as Billionaire. For every house walls and roof are same but the value of the house is more determined on its flooring and interiors. Do not break your head too much on cost and buy according to your capacity & be happy.
