Obviously the aircraft were purchased to bring Air India back to its former glory. The national airline of a country should have a new and modern fleet. Also, the staff of Air India was complaining that they were unable to run the airline properly in the absence of new aircraft. I don't see any reason to suspect a scam.

ur shouting with no sense........think the possible way......people prefer Rail journey more coz its convenient and safe also run by the so called indian goverment....if they fail to get seats or miss their comfort in timing they apt for private buses and other modes.........same applies here.............Airindia is owned by goverment and the so called cost is also to be cheap compared to private ones........more over till now more issues are there in airindia due to out dated models of aircrafts......not only that the so called national airlines has got so many approvals for buying new planes.....but still we find the same old planes and with poor quality.......

before shouting think properly.......after all its ur money and my money and our money which runs the airindia

As per today airindia is in deep trouble coz most of the passengers are opting fr private careers where service and qaulity is better compared to this.........also puntuality is a key for them......which u cant expect all the time in air india they take off even 20 mins late without anouncement......if u got finding faults step by step........air india is a loser......

Possible scams are there tooo which are not yet shown up till now.....coz not 100 or 200 a whoping 50000 crore every 5 yrs is sanctioned and the airlines is poor think and see if its ur own money

If the staff of Air India don't work properly, is it the fault of the government? The government has given them new aircraft and new airports. It is for the workers of Air India to demonstrate that they are better than the employees of private airlines.

The analogy of railways does not hold because the raiways are a government monopoly.

Air India's buying spree of aircrafts

One can smell a SCAM here too. Is it the reason for the Aviation Minister being shifted out of the Ministry.

The UPA is driving the country to the docks. Unless immediate measures are taken to revive the economy, control price rise and inflation, cleanse the administration, the day is not too far when an Egypt like revolution will take place.

In that case, the present UPA government will be solely responsible.

yes, am also of the same opinion. all these Govt, MPs ,MLAs, and Govt Babus are a huge bloody curse of the nation. they are only using all this ideas of purchasing 111 aircraft for whom, for what, and why? what is wrong with the previous aircraft? is there any feasibility study, cost ratio, etcc done? before they can go for massive purchases. this is only way to rob indian peoples money. there is nobody to ask them, to check where the peoples money are going. in somany scam till date nobody is convicted. every chor in the Govt. are shielded by the laws itself. laws are made only for common people who are feeding the family and these bloody thief who seem to rule the country. they live the most luxurious life ever. only we the people are fools, because we know our country are ruled by chor and cheats, we are still quite.

Dear Chanakya Mautya, You are unnecassirily targetting the govt on this issue. How do you know they have earned huge commission in this deal. As per my information, the brokerage in this deal was jusr Rs 100 per aircraft. So what is the big deal

This was not done to earn brokerage. this was done to make Air India bankrupt. Naresh Goal has been eying Air India for years. What better way to dispose off Air India to Naresh Goel at dirt cheap price than by making investments and taking huge debt on the books?

if the speculation has credibility, it means yet one more scam is in the pipeline ?!!! In any case, they will have to auction and sell it only to the highest bidder.

Public money is for draining by these bureacrats and politicians. After voting which is taken against all democratic norms i.e. caste creed, region, langaugage basis - everyone forgets voters and use voters as goats to be butchered for tax collection only.

If kick back per air-craft is 2% (Rs 2.3) crores, then for 111 planes it stands at Rs 255 crores...

Imagination apart,it is always good to have new air-craft for the safety of passengers, any how air-india is never going to make profit in next 100 years...

2% is far too les.. In the industry 2% is what the clerks charge for releasing any refund cheques etc. it has bee 10 % atleast and may be one private jet free for some big shot politician or a Villa in some exotic location .
