It is so easy for the high & mighty to talk about earning fat salaries and are not even bothered about the highest majority of people in both both urban as well as rural sectors who just about make ends meet by struggling on an on, with no holidays, breaks,no proper life, battle on with huge debts to clear ( education) and mouths to feed. Isn't it better that people who earn more than 10-15 lakhs a year contribute towards their lesser brethren to ensure some sort of parity in the lives of the so called neglected lot of society. Does anyone care?

What a Joke!

Only officials named? What about the Minister?
How long are we the people of India going to be shammed with numerous commitees, commisssion, enquiries that never catch the powers-that-be and make scapegoats of the poor hapless bureaucrats who have no way but to obey the ministers diktats when in power and are sacrificed at the alter when such scams/corruption comes out.

Do we need to take a cue from the Tunisians, Egyptians who are bravely on the streets against corruption - do we hv it in us to stand up to our Govt, like them?

Indian Govt. has too many rules for......
by Ram R on Jan 31, 2011 11:30 AM

Indian Govt. has too much regulations for harassing AAM ADMI, so that these corrupt Babus can deny any service to Aam Admi, but leaders and politicinas and Babus can ignore all regulations and get job done.
More Regulations are root cause of CORRUPTIONS. You can never nail them. They will have some rule up in sleave to protect them.

India's Regulations
by ashwani kumar on Jan 30, 2011 11:05 AM

In India Regulations exist for common people , Priviliged and VIPs, politicians ,bureaucrats etc are totally unregulated. Unless ,these gaps are pluged , we will remain a total unreglated Nation. So survey findings need to consider reallity rather than merely doing a paper exercise. I would also like to emphasis that present set-up can't eradicate this and we have to look beyond (I mean formation of new ethical political outfit, consisting of learned people with high values).

HIPAA is a euphemestically named draconian fraud. That is why I am beginning to believe in some Yemeni clerics views. I can see why they are ranting.

That is not true.

India is overregulated / red tape / babudom at low level. At high level India is very corrupt and the recent scams are proof of it.

China is regulated at the top and bottom both so it has balanced growth...same with Japan.

REGULATION IS MUST IN ANY SOCIETY
by Rajendra Gupta on Jan 30, 2011 07:45 AM  | Hide replies

It is wrong USA is one of the most regulated countries in world. They have fantastic laws and guidelines for everything including pharma, advertising and sex harassment. The penalties are most heavy for crimes and breaking rules. No society can function without rules. The corrupt babus and greedy businessman would plunder the country if regulations are not there.India is not only unregulated but poorly implemented country.here laws are in papers only. That is main problem.Rampant corruption and unaccountability is main cause of our problems.Indians should feel ashamed. Our judges should feel ashamed more.

Babus hide behind the complicated laws and hence the regulation is compounded by corruption. Try and get things doen by a babu and one understands why we have so many problems in our country. Problens of militancy and naxalism find their roots in the systems and the manner in which these systems are implemented.Remove the unnecessary barriers and see how India develops. Indians do well globally but fail in India - sit back and think about it.
