Not at all
by united india on Jan 28, 2011 04:07 PM

Unless these tablets reduce the price around Rs 10K,the commodity only will reach around 2% of population...These companies r very clever, after 1 year the price will drastically reduce to that level & a new upgraded version will be available then...This high cost is just to fool poor Indians!!!

by Northern Barbarian on Jan 28, 2011 11:01 AM  | Hide replies

Samsung GTab has front and rear facing camera.
And most importantly, It is a phone as well while i-pad is just a glorified pc just for browsing.
Guys, dont get fooled..

You cannot multitaskwith ipad. You can only do one task at a time. If you want to surf the web and type into a document, you can’t. You need to exit one and then open the other.

-No flash support. Enjoy the web without much of its content!

-Doesn’t use a real operating system, like Windows or Mac OSX. It runs like an iPhone, not a laptop.

-It doesn’t have an SD card slot or USB slot. You want to load all your photos and music on it? You need to buy a special dongle and attach it to the iPad. Ah yes, that’s convenient and cost-effective.

-You need to lay it flat and look straight down at it to type on it. It’s not like a netbook or laptop where the keyboard is flat and the screen is in front of your face.

-You can buy a keyboard accessory — you can spend extra money to turn a low-power netbook-type tablet into a non-portable desktop computer. Meanwhile there are products like Lenovo U1 Hybrid where you can slip the tablet into a netbook shell and turn it into a portable, foldable laptop.
Fact is, tablets have been around forever and the mainstream market didn’t want them. Just because they’ve slapped an Apple logo on it, should people suddenly want it?

you are missing the point, I already have tons of apps for iphone, the beauty about ipad is the apps that people have developed for it, I am going to get one for my son knowing that how much he loves iphone for playing educational software.

iPad has multitasking, flash. and Gtab doesn't have Keyboard either. Why are you arguing for namesake. Your points are all incorrect.

Now this comment itself proves that you have nothing to talk on functionality and features, and whatever flaw you mentioned above are make-believes. That is why you are now arguing on societal perceptions rather than facts.

how to use iPad for Multitasking? Also is it possible to do video conferencing? I think its better to wait for the iPad 2 lauch which is expected to have many new features like camera, SD slot, USB connecitvity etc..

In case you have an older version , then update iOS to 4.2 or later. It has multitasking bar.

And yes, i completely agree that those who can, should wait for iPad2 , just three more months wait.
