R & D and I N V E N T - key to sustain in future
by asa kul on Jan 27, 2011 11:06 PM

We cant relie on any other country only as Service Provider. US jobs moving to India - true for some areas, but High Tech USA jobs are not at all moving here. At any cost, USA is keeping the key of R&D and Inventions. It is USA fault that they made China so powerful by importing finished good at cheap rate from China. China - being the 2nd largest economy in the world - is investing heavily on R&D and invention. This will make China to survive longer even USA stops purchasing from China. What about India? Our IT industry and other industries are still in SERVICING mode. In companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys - only service based culture is cultivated. Employees are blindly following what managers are asking to do.Even other companies also follow the same path. Service based wont be survived in long term. Invest, R&D and Invent - these should be followed in all Indian companies. Difference in China and India in terms of High Tech is -
Micro Processor - China have - India Dont have, we only work for Intel and AMD, ARM, TI.
Operating System - China have their own OS - India serves Microsoft,Google,Oracle.
Semiconductor Foundries - China have at more than 12 sophisticated foundries - India - No way
Manufacturing plants - China - all of electronics companies have their manufacturing plants in China. India - no way
Semiconductor, Software and manufacturing these are the key to power - and China is on the right path...
Invest, R&D and

Maybe VS you haven't caught the point. The West aren't allowing him to suck it up with their restrictive policies. So, he is unhappy as expected. The point he is indirectly making is that US has woken to the fact that we are too large a market to miss. Hence, mebbe India can start playing hardball (jst a little, weeny bit for starters)

If Indai wants to be no 1 then one must "ask" tough requirements and should not succumb to others "ruling"

its power game not for fools and cowardice!!

India should open up
by Kungfu Panda on Jan 27, 2011 03:24 PM  | Hide replies

i wanna buy an imported bike like hayabusa which costs 6 lakhs in USA. In India it costs 12 lakhs. 100% customs duty has to be paid for imported bike and cars which is just going into the coffers of the Indian govt. They say it is to protect Indian automakers. What are they protecting, the 125cc crap bikes of India? they are only protecting incompetency. no one with a budget of 50000Rs for a bike will buy a hayabusa even if there are no customs duties as it is still way too expensive for their budget. It is true that India has to open up their markets and restrictions for US markets because fact is they make better products than us

Then Premji should start complaining when 100% tax is imposed on software. They are only doing what india is doing.

The high custom duty need not for protection of local industry. The govt also needs to earn revenue and one way is to tax a price inelastic item like high value bike which helps them earn revenue. It is not a priority sector anyway. You should worry about what is good for India and not what is good for you!!

Innovate to face India, China challenge: Obama
by Loga on Jan 27, 2011 02:17 PM

Washington, Jan 26 (IANS) Citing once again the growing challenge from emerging powers like India and China, US President Barack Obama asked Americans to unleash their creative spirits and innovate to 'win the future' in a rapidly shifting global economy.

'That world has changed. And for many, the change has been painful,' he said in a State of the Union address Tuesday to a joint sitting of the US Congress less than three months after his Democratic party's defeat in the midterm elections.

whatever European powers and America are enjoying is because of 2-3 centuries of literally looting the rest of the world including India.

That we do not talk of it does not mean it does not affect us nor that it did not happen, nor that it is small or negligible.

If you want to find faults or raise intelligent points, you are welcome, but first get the facts right.

Western Economies could never be so big without oil, electricity and radio.

The entire native population of America was slaughtered by Europeans.

Just like Spain and Portugal looted Central and South America.

Just like England looted and destroyed Indian trade and traditions and deliberately systematically and successfully destroyed Indian society.

Don't forget all that.

Switzerland and Rome have vast stolen treasures in their underground vaults.

With something as common as Alternating current, the Americans do not credit its biggest inventor-engineer Nikola
Tesla.

All this adds up to their present military and technological superiority.

Do read something about The Secret History of Silicon Valley.

It is real, openly published and known history, not a conspiracy theory.

Very well said Devdutt.

Don't also forget Great Britain also starved, raped, racially abused, sodomized, tortured, cannibalized, approximately 5-million Irish people to death between 1845 to 1850 and still occupies the Republic of Ireland and the occupied six counties in the north-east as well - since 1167.

Don't forget who slaughtered the Aborigines of Australia - British terrorists.

Don't also forget who is slaughtering, raping, sodomizing, racially abusing and torturing the Iraqi people and stealing their oil wealth and destroying the country - American and British terrorists.

This is not conspiracy theories - these are true facts.

Western Countries (except Republic of Ireland, Cyprus and Malta), are terrorist states.

US is not giving money in donations to wipro rather any IT Company. It is pure business. They must be benefiting by it that is why they are transferring business to India. The day they get more cheaper solution they will not care for Wipro or India.
Definately this does not mean they lecture us on anything and everything.
