Till fear psychosis do not prevail amongst employees about who will pay the salary and that they are to live within the means without Govt. support like private sector, nothing will improve. Unwanted staff is to chucked out immediaately.

air india is not like railways where there is no other alternative..
private airlines will happily fulfill demand if this corrupt and inefficient airline is disbanded

His priority ought to prepare for an auction of Air India.

It is a national leakage.

Many easy ways to revive Air India
by VijaySagar on Jan 22, 2011 03:23 PM

1. Sack all the employees, and get an independent body to run it, devoid of any political interference
2. Outsource the organisation to a professional outfit
3. Just shut the company down, will do India and the tax payers a lot of good !!

The minister of Civil Aviation can easily turn around Air India and he is going to do it. He should buy a huge lot of new 200 Jets and make life hell for private players. but if he really wants to save Air India, he should not take commission more then 200 crores per aircraft at any cost. if he makes more then 200 crores per aircraft, how will the airline survive. he can convince his partners in loot to reduce the money every body wants.

I guess we should have open mind and give Ravi a chance to prove.Lot of mess has been created by his predecessor and Ravi should select experts from O&M dvn of Defence and mgt Experts from IIM HR professionals with excellent track record.AI need complete overhaul. What has happened to Accenture's Study-AI has spent a few crores on merger exercise but proved most non productive.Ravi has herculeon task ahead and needs his undivided attention to resolve pending issues,

Air India-Shut
by rajendran ramesh on Jan 21, 2011 04:32 PM

Air india to be shut down.It can not face competion from private players.Look at the case in telecom,BSNL & MTNL struggling to private players because fo their incompetent.People are getting quality service from these private playres. So,gove should privatize Railway,& PSU so people can be offered good service.
