Mr Suresh. It seems you are amongs those 1% you are talking about. If you dont know a 800 Cr Company, you need to rework on yourself
Nirodh,Mala-D,Jandu Bam,Ujala,Borolin,Pan Parag,Keo Karpin,Surf,Amul,Topaz,Gillette,Eveready,Khaitan, etc are more popular and widely used brands than the above mentioned ones...
These so called market surveyors are mostly in the payroll of the producers of goods that pander to the wants of the consumers. How touch points are determined? How the questions are framed? None of the companies that cater to our needs (except SBI & LIC), but for whom the economy will grind to a halt features in the list.Does it really matter whether I wear a Titan or some other brand of watch? Yes, BMW is an aspirational brand, but how does it impact a common man unless he gets run over like in the infamous BMW case.Someone talked about Amul, and he is right. Why not IndianOil? But then how these marketeers flaunt Gucci shoes unless they promote conspicuous consumption? Remember,-- several years back Indian girls were routinely crowned Miss World/ Universe? Why? To capture the Indian cosmetics market. Job done no more prizes come to Indian girls. So, rediff should stop such crap.
this is managed by tata's for a price. Because of the revelations in Nira radia tapes. Even after the disclosures in the tape tata is second then the fools only participated in the poll.
the fact that tatas r no 2 recognised brand in india is itself something of a great achievement. but i hv one qt for the research organisation - did 'amul - the taste of india- feature as one of the brands that was checked? i am sure that it will definitely be in the top 10 - looking at its reach into the interiors of india. i dont even see it in the top 50. that definitely is an aberration. will rediff pass on this comment to the co who organised the show?
