Mosquitoes ,Stray Dogs and dirty Mumbai-Whats London ?
by Alice Janho on Jan 16, 2011 01:44 PM

Please when journalists write article please go around the world and then supply information.Paid writers can give wrong information.Once upon a time Britishers could not identify malarial parasites in Hospitals when patients died, but in Mumbai Millions die even today of Malaria dirt disease and all this can be easily controlled.Roads are littered with water ,dirt filth excrement and no public toilets or portable ones,Dogs stray ones running mad thanks to the mad ministers who make animal welfare laws biting human beings ,solution is to gather them and parcel them to the Lawmakers home hell to animal welfare who enjoy high rise buildings when poor are bitten ears are ripped off.Unless Mumbai turns cosmopolitan ,international with awareness of inviting people from India and other countries with open arms please dont excite readers.A global village should start permanently in Mubai showcasing the very good side with business interests like in Dubai and that will bring in change.Mumbai as a tourist destination for the wada pav, dresses, shwawls and garments, jewels and famed tourist destination will wipe out the silly Mumbai for Mumbaikars attitude and will Make Mumbai a international Destination like Singapore or Dubai. Also end os malaria, dogs and cleanliness will set in.Change is the only way to get rid of utopian wild old ideas and will bring in jobs for millions of indians who can sell anything to forgeigners dresses ,handkerchiefs,Pants suits shirts ,jewellery food .

Mumbai like London? In which universe??
by Bodh Ramdeo on Jan 15, 2011 07:26 AM  | Hide replies

Anyone ever heard any mayor of London trumpeting such nonsensical drivel like "London for Londoners"??
Yet idiots like the Thackerays have been mouthing their "Mumbai for Mumbaikers" drivel for eons, with total impunity and no one's had the chtuzpah or gonads to give these fetid scumbags the much-needed heave-ho.

Develop but also decentralise
by jay b on Jan 14, 2011 09:01 PM

UK does not have an option but to develop and expand London .Thats the only hope for them.

India is completely different scenario. We have huge population and decentralisation is the only way forward. India needs to develop infrastructure like metros ,roads, high speed maglev trains and efficient garbage collection and processing. This should be uniform across all major and medium sized cities in India. The technology for all of this is readily available and can be made indigenous in a few years.

I agree. All money viz 50% of indian GDP is spent on UP, Bihar and MP and these people are a shame migrating of Mumabi and making it dirty. North East states are neglected by ruling north indians

Mumbai is what is it because of generatios of hard working migrants who have hade this the financial capital of india. If the city administration cannot improve the civic amenities and the infrastructure they are to be blamed not the "migrants" BTW bombay is a city of migrants like it or not, so you idiots will blame most of mumbaikars and not the corporation for the appalling civic amenities? You lazy idiots have not gained from the financial boom of this city and you blame others! Ridiculous!

CANT COMPARE
by lax yopr on Jan 14, 2011 06:17 PM  | Hide replies

You cant compare ANY Indian city to ANY western city... its a BIG difference.
I have lived in western countries & noticed the following diff, which we dont have:
1. Excellent infrastructure
2. Educated citizens willing to follow rules
3. Respect for others
4. Value for human life
5. Politicians afraid of citizens

Now you can, honestly, tell the the Mayor of London that what he wants -- in terms of much more integration between rich and poor -- is happening at your corporator level.

Even at the ministerial level we have gardeners as well as Valets-cum-Masseurs for a much more physical integration between rich (ministers)and the poor minions.
