Completely build unit will add up to extra cost
by Sachin Baluni on Jan 14, 2011 07:16 PM  | Hide replies

The Car will be imported as completely build units, hence will be much costlier. moreover spares and service will be costly.
An overpriced product (due to excise duty) with costly service means a maruti with no maruti advantage

Yes but failed to sell in China has anything to do with INDIA ? Check reviews all over the internet. This is a GREAT car. If it is priced 13-16l, it will sell very well in that segment. I am waiting to this one anxiously :)

Its sold in a Maruti dealership,,agreed! but its a Suzuki straight from the box! There is no Maruti branding on the car too.Check the options and then check what the competiton has to offer an then mark your words.

Maruti ruled India? the car? which is nothing but suzuki and only maruti badge to play desi?(maybe some maruti are made for India only with lower standards/specifications and therefore more desi)to catch the upper middle class it is importing direct from japan

But Rs20 lakhs for a maruti car is asking for too much. These days we can get BMW X1 for 21 lakhs.

You have to decide whether you are going to pay for the brand OR the product!

you sure can get a BMW badge for 21 lakhs,,and can also get frequent idrive (if equipped) hiccups,,nagging electronics,,oh yeah i forgot those are standard equipment for the German engineering.
Agreed u dont get the Snob value with a suzuki brand but agreed to get a car that will smoke the entry beemer in performance and bomb it with options and technlogy and will be bomb proof too,,thanks to Japanese reliabilty.
