For all the errors of Government, the blame is on others not on Sonia Gandhi family. For emergency it was Sanjay Gandhi, for price rise it is NCP for 2 G scam it is A Raja. Buck does not stop nor goes anywhere close to M M Singh or Sonia Gandhi / Rahul Gandhi

Coalition Dharma - Adharma
by vijayan balakrishnan on Jan 13, 2011 10:19 PM

While there is hardly any doubt that governance is a shared responsibility and none of the coalition partners – or parties- can absolve themselves off the responsibility, the coalition governance is really fraught with the serious pitfalls of political expediency.
Admittedly, no government can escape the collective responsibility of governance and public opprobrium for poor governance and the failure to, at least, arrest the spiraling price rise, if not contain it. Any blame-game is likely to be viewed suspiciously by the people as a passing-the-buck game. The public may not take it too kindly as the menacing price-rise pinches every one - with the marginalized sections of the society hit more as a result.
When Rahul Gandhi has lamented that compulsions of the Coalition politics has its equal, if not more, political compulsions, he has merely stated what should not be expressed publicly as per the norms of coalition politics. Ironically, in private, no one would deny that coalition politics is not in the interest of a country like India where unity in diversity must be not only acknowledged but also practised in letter and spirit. Unfortunately, in coalition politics, the partners always demand their pound of flesh for the numerical support they extend to the majority partner. The collation governments of Kerala, which has created numerous power centres

Has Food production increased?
by Suprasanna Bhat on Jan 13, 2011 03:19 PM

Has the food and agriculture produce increased...the increase in produce should be proportional to the growth in population and consider some additional offset to tackle poor monsoon or famine.

PRICE RISE
by Aam Admi on Jan 13, 2011 11:05 AM

I am really surprised that government has not been able to link price rise with the floods in Australia and Brazil. People also tend to forget that our Minister for Agriculture plus a an International Cricket Administrator had once assured that the prices will come down by 2010 end. Honorable minister could predict the rise of onion prices quite in advance but does not know when it will come down or it will come down at all or not. On the other end, our Hon'ble Chief Minister Delhi has assured the dalals that they will not be troubled and they have all the liberty to hoard any amount of food items. So that is the situation, we are in. Can somebody help?

by Karan Hi on Jan 13, 2011 08:45 AM  | Hide replies

If Food is costly.. and 80% of Indians depend on Agriculture.. May be its a good thing. Farmers are geting more for thier produce..
So by this logic 80% of India should be happy with rise in food price.. Farmers are aam aadmi.

Nope...its not a good thing as farmers continue to get their fixed price whereas the middlemen like Stock holders and traders are the huge benificiaries...and these middlemen have political connections!! The farmers (producers) and the common people (Consumers) suffer because of this inflation!
