Failure of Mamta Bannerjee
by dibbendu sinha on Jan 15, 2011 12:31 PM

Mamata Bannerjees job at present as a Railway Minister is solely to disturb the functioning of the govt.led by Mr.Budhadev Bhattatcharya and not to see the funtioning of the Railways which bears an all time down gradeing.
The industrial growth in West Bangal has lost its glory after the Singur issue and it is doubted whether multinantional company like Wipro will be able to exist in the regime of Mamta Bannerjee.
All like minded people should prevent Mamta Bannerjee from coming to power in order to avoid heelish conditions in West Bengal which has been a paradise for the citizens of the state.
The condress party should find an alternative arragement instead of haveing a 100 % support with Mamta Bannerjee.

bengal move on
by socrates singh on Jan 11, 2011 08:26 AM

I wonder if West Bengal can ever move beyond debate and dharna, towards some action.

Its sad to see what was once an industrial society in the 1960's become a pre-industrial society thanks to its tunnel vision political and trade union leadership.

leg puller
by ar on Jan 11, 2011 12:21 AM  | Hide replies

if the people of bengal change their leg pulling attitude then there is a chance for change. They have been mentally brainwashed to legpull and politicize everything. Whole mentality of the state people is twisted, so how can you expect any good to happen? It is just the mindset that matters, rest will happen. See marwaris, wherever they go they shine in business. See gujaratis and parsis. Send a marwari to any place on earth without anything in hand and go and see his condition in 10 years and he will be the richest person there. He will find opportunity everywhere and utilize it instead of legpulling others.

Industrialisation vs fertile land
by khemaji Bheel on Jan 10, 2011 09:20 PM

Industrialisation is very much necessary for growth of economy and generation of wealth as well as the much needed employment but, at the same time,no fertile land should be allotted for industrial use just for the sake of industrialisation. Industries in Gujarat , M.P., Karnataka, TN etc. are established in dry patches where agricultural activities cannot be perused. As far Bengal, total area of Bengal is fertile and there is no justification establishing industries which require large tract in fertile land. In that case, Bengal should go for small industries that too in banjar land. Food is more important than anything.

One thing that everybody is forgetting
by manoj on Jan 10, 2011 06:46 PM

The main threat to CPM is not from TC, but from leftist aliance partners CPI, RSP, FB. They have started taking revenge for the killing of their workers by CPM. We have seen this in panchayat and municipal elections, where CPI, RSP, FB defeated CPM candidates and refused to support CPM to gain power, and blamed CPM big brother attitude for the problems in bengal.

Why lot of criticism against Mamata ?
by manoj on Jan 10, 2011 06:25 PM  | Hide replies

I know the reason why lot of people blame Mamata.

Congressis secretly support CPM for favors. Cong is the Bteam of CPM in bengal. Mamata has guts and Mamata doesnt obey congress high command. So Congressis hate Mamata.

So, Cong and CPM join hands together and blame Mamata.

BIKAS BHADRA
WB CM deserves full backing for turning Singur into an industrial
by BIKAS BHADRA on Jan 10, 2011 06:17 PM  | Hide replies

The massive turnout at the Left Front rally at Singur on 09.01.2011 to strengthen the hands of CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee in translating the industrial programmes into reality, specially for the nearly finished NANO CAR plant, amply demonstrates the will of the majority of the common people of W.B. to go for rapid industrialisation.

A motley group of landowners of the total land acquired for setting up the plant, not exceeding 10% of the total No. of landowners, cannot be allowed to hold back the future of industrialisation in WB. This sort of blind opposition to the state govt's efforts, as is being held out by Trinamool Congress, is unthinkable in any other part of India.

The Prime Minister, known for his pragmatic views on the economic growth of the country, should not remain an onlooker only and must reinforce the the efforts of the state govt.

Mamta is very good as opposition leader. Even she is opposing presnet upa govt in spite of the fact that she also a part of this govt. Surprisingly, she is absolutely mum regarding price rise and the different scams. Is there any backdoor understanding?

Only a very good opposition leader can become a very good CM. Remember before CPM came to power they were in opposition, and thorugh strong agitation only they came to power.
