Rice Plate: In US they don't eat "Rice Plate" as such therefore it's a speciality and hence it's going to be costly. Cup of Coffee: In Mumbai u get a cup of coffee starting at Rs.8 at the street vendor, Rs.60 at CCD, Rs.120 at Barista and so on.. It depends where u r taking it

Your concept of 'special thing' is very comical. An average Indian meal costs less than 5 US dollars ( that too a buffet - meaning , eat as much as you can) , which translates to about 230 Indian rupees at the max.
A decent meal costs anywhere between 300 and 500 in ANY good restaurants in the Metro cities. Here decent meal comprises of a 3 course meal.
Cup of coffee even at a so called UDUPI costs you 20 rupees. Starbucks coffee costs you may be 1.5 USD which is about 60 rupees for the best quality of coffee.
Like your name suggests, you do not have brains or so it seems.
Mumbai is the most expensive and not even half the money people pay for the real estate. Sooner of later that will go away as people are fed up with the ridiculously high costs .

Even a roadside eatery in remote suburbs pay minimum Rs.15000 rent , apart from BMC taxes, haftas and so on. Here mainstay is rent.
