Inflation Story
by Bala on Feb 22, 2011 05:24 PM  | Hide replies

The inflation figures projected to the public itself is a big gamble and lot off politics in it. Govt can derive at any inflation figure by controlling the price of commodities that are used for evaluation inflation.
Dear FM Ji,
Just include the following two items too for calculating the inflation from now onwards
-> Actual House rent
-> Actual Real estate prices
You would be shocked to see the inflation rate at 22 to 29%. Also you can never control the inflation figure .
Please don't try to fool us by projecting manipulated figures.

I have a simple question Dear FMs.
by Bala on Feb 22, 2011 05:17 PM

I started earning from Year 2000. Since them Conveyance Allowance stands at 800 Rs and medical bill reimbursement at 1500Rs. These figures needs to be corrected every year based on inflation. Unfortunately that was not done. Why every FM is turning blind to this simple fact.

Healthcare sector needs to be redrawn. Why senior citizens are not getting insurance coverage? medical coverage? This should not happen and insurance and medical coverage needs to be made for all, as risk is increased in this case premium may also be kept slightly higher than normal. Also an average middle class family cannot afford a good hospital these days as the treatment/operation costs are in lacs. This phenoma also should be looked into.

IF..

If our FM is truly interested in the betterment of the people in India,he should do following 3 thngs.
1. Reduce service tax.
2. Stop corruption and prevent future scams or the ongoing ones(LOL)
3. Try to bridge the gap between incomes/expenditures of rural and urban population.

Even if he takes the above information 50% seriously, and implements 20 % of it, he will not find fiscal deficit and rocketing inflation in any city of India

Is it true %age of people paying income tax in India less than 1%

Is it true %age of people paying income tax in India less than 1%.
I heard this news came out in the Jan 20 or 21st issue of the Hindu. Apparently, percentage of people paying income tax in India is 0.8% of the total population. This is because 70% of the population are in agriculture and they don't pay tax. And rest all 29% Indians show there annual income below tax lemit and rest show themself to below the poverty line. Based on this fact, the Government is thinking of abolishing Income Tax altogether because it costs more to collect income tax than what is earned from that.
