There is not a lot of difference in the quality of a Skoda and Merc. You are paying the premium for the brand value and nothing more. Merc is way overpriced considering the fact that you can get better cars at lower prices like Skoda and Japanese cars. The craze for Merc is only in India where as in the rest of the developed world like Europe, USA and Japan, its not a big deal. only Indians are crazy about flop cars like hyundai, merc etc. They are not a big deal in Europe, USA and Japan. In india merc has been since long time and people do not have proper knowledge of global cars due to lack of exposure that is why they praise the mediocre cars to the heavens. these cars are duds in abroad and do not have good sales. that is why they are dumped her because Indians feel they are the best

Height of Ignorance, you dont know a shit. Dude Skoda is nowhere in the international market none knows what is Skoda its a failed brand. While Merc is 1 of top 3 luxury brand in the world.

Seems u roamed around globally (or else frog from well),,,how crap was ur message,,merc is least selling India compare to other countries,,,after all they inventors of automobile n know how comp core values are interms of their brand, customers etc,,
Its like comparing amitabh with the likes of shah rukh, and salman and bobby deols..the cars have different pricings, and there is a huge difference in the prices too..

Since when did cars turn into humans? If you are an English news portal, at least try to write in grammatically correct English: "who" is used for people. For inanimate objects and non-humans, you say "which" (although one may use who in the case of a specific animal).
Additionally, which idiot compares a Skoda to a Merc, just because it has a V6? Can I compare Maruti Alto with a Honda Civic because both have power steering, power windows and a music system? Not all high performance cars use V6 either: Audi A4, for example uses a turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. Skoda is not a luxury sedan, and neither is Passat. Both are at the upper-end of the mid-range segment, which includes Honda Accord and Camry.
Finally, all luxury cars need high-octane fuel, including Merc.
I own the older model Skoda Superb. It does not have the 'brand image' of a Merc, but that was the reason I bought it in the first place. If you think of your own driving experience rather than about impressing people around you, Skoda Superb is a very good buy.
